Scrapbooking with the Doodlebug Design Snow Much Fun Collection!

Hello friends, Karla here today with two fun and frosty layouts using the fabulous Doodlebug Design Snow Much Fun collection! I love the blues and purples in this line and there are so many fantastic pieces to embellish with! I was excited to get out my photos from a recent trip to a local park!

I used my Cricut to diecut the title and mittens and then used the Petite Prints and 12x12 Collection Pack to back the cut files with.

I smooshed Villainous Potion and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks onto a Waffle Flower Stencil Mat and after spritzing with water, used some plastic packaging to pick up the colour and add it to my white cardstock background.

I added puffy stickers and stickers from the 12x12 sticker sheet (also included in the Collection Pack).

The cut apart tag sheet was perfect for layering on smaller photos to add to my page.

On the second page I again used the Petite Prints for a border and then a pretty snowflake pattern on the white cardstock.

I used one of the journaling cards from the cut apart sheet and added some cute heart stickers.

I added some of the sentiment and snowflake stickers to decorate the page.

The adorable Winter Wonderland Shaker Pop was perfect to decorate the page, layered on some cute Bits & Pieces ephemera!

How To Layer Your Scrapbooking Elements using Doodlebug Design & Video

Hello! Karla back again today with two more layouts using the adorable Doodlebug Design Winter Wonderland collection, the Marvy Snow Marker and the Wild Whisper Strength Of The Season Sequins. Sometimes it's hard to figure out how to incorporate several different designs of papers as well as all those cute stickers and ephemera, but if you take it step by step it really isn't hard at all! I've made a video, linked below, where you can see the process I use to layer up all these fun elements - AND show you how easy it is to use the awesome Snow Marker!

In the first layout you can see how I use various patterned papers - with a base of white cardstock. The green paper with white snow and the sweater print paper are both a more subtle pattern and let the moose border and SNOW cards shine!

I added some Distress Oxide Ink around the edges of some of the elements to give them a slight shadow. The Floral Spice Thickers complete my title. PS They are on sale!!

I layered on sticker words on top of the 3x4 card from the cut apart sheet and the pink snowflake, and then even added a few more pops of colour with the sequin mix.

I glued down the cute moose from the Odds & Ends pack and then popped up the Love This sticker from the 12x12 sticker sheet using foam tape. A tiny heart sticker from the cardstock sticker sheets is then added on top of that!

For the next layout I added in some mixed media in coordinating colours using Distress Oxide Sprays. You can see how this layout comes together in the video below!

Don't forget you can unscrew the Distress Oxide Sprays and use the nozzle for a more direct splatter effect. I also used some plastic packaging and did a smooshing technique for the background layer.

The Marvy Snow Marker is really fun to use and creates highlights, texture and dimension. The key is to let it dry slightly after applying and then carefully heat while keeping your heat gun moving. You can easily add a second layer for even more snowy goodness!

I had so much fun layering and adding pops of colour on this layout!!

Here's a look at the VIDEO where you can see just how I put this layout together!

New Product- Doodlebug Winter Wonderland Layouts

Hello! Karla back today with two cute, wintry layouts to share with you using the adorable Doodlebug Design Winter Wonderland collection, a very cool Marvy Snow Marker and the Wild Whisper Strength Of The Season Sequins. I think I’ve come to terms with the fact that a majority of our year here in Canada is chilly and snowy, so why not use super cute supplies to scrap those winter pics?!! I love the colours in this collection, and I totally feel happier just seeing the adorable animals on my pages! 💙💜💙

We recently took Erica sledding on a hill near our house and of course she had a blast! I only went down the hill once and that was enough, lol! I decided to use the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine February Sketchy Challenge as inspiration for this layout.

I matted my photos with purple and blue cardstocks and layered them on a white background. I added some coordinating snowflakes using a Kraftin' Kimmie stencil and inks. I then added Floral Spice Thickers to the top of the Odds & Ends diecut to create a fun title.

The Marvy Snow Marker is really fun! You simple dab it any areas you want to add 'snow' to, let it dry, and then heat with a heat gun. It almost immediately starts to puff up! On areas that I wanted even more dimension, I added a second coat. This was so fun!

These cute little guys are so happy and sweet!! The Wild Whisper Strength Of The Season Sequins matched so well that I had to add them to the page. My fav glue for paper and embellishments is the Art Institute Glitter Adhesive, and the Metal Precision Tip makes attaching sequins so easy.

For my second layout, I'm using the SCT365 2020 Layout Class Sketch for February as my inspiration. I love the small 2.5" squares on one of the cut apart pages in the paper pack! Perfect for embellishing pages and making cards!

I used a sticker from the 12x12 sticker sheet in the paper pack to add a title and added some stickers from the cardstock sticker pack as well as more pretty sequins.

That Snow Marker was perfect again for adding puffy snow and marshmallow embellishments. I layered on some coordinating colours of Distress Oxide Sprays (linked at the bottom of the post) by using the nozzle to tap some ink onto a piece of packaging, adding a little water and then smooshing it onto my cardstock. I love the splattery effect!

How fun are these flower-like snowflakes from the Odds & Ends pack?!!

We were all tired from our snowy adventure, but we had a great time, and now we get to relive those memories whenever we pull out the scrapbook!
