Summer Sketch-athon: Sketch #1

Are you ready? Let's bring in summer with a bang!

Our first sketch from the lovely Valerie Salmon is

Here is my interpretation below - my layout is based on the sketch turned 90 degrees. The versatility of sketches astounds me as you can rotate it, use a mirror image of it or even select a portion of the sketch!

I chose a subtle tone on tone look for my layout. The flower accents were inspired by the groovy flowers on my daughter's helmet. I layered several pattern paper circles from the same line of BasicGrey papers.

Supplies:  Basic Grey (pattern paper, die cut stickers, chipboard accents, alphas); EK Success (circle punch, flower punch); Versamagic (chalk ink); KI Memories (puffy butterflies)

When you have created your sketch interpretation, please link me up in the comments. I'll put your name in the draw for Sketch #1. The draw will be made July 11, 2011 at 12 midnight MST. One entry per person please; however if you wish to create several interpretations, I would love to see those too!

Let's get scrapping!!!

Fabulous Find - Websters Push Pins!

Have you seen these in the store????

The store carries slightly different pins but they are equally delicious! :-)

In the past, I shied away from accents like these pins but now that I have discovered them, I use them to hold ribbon together, layer accents together and ....I've even used them as corsage pins for my Mom!

Give them a try and let me know what you think!

Scrap Shotz June Reveal

Hello hello hello!!! We've had a small hiatus on the Scrap Shotz blog but we are baaaaack! And what a great way to start than with a post highlighting the Scrap Shotz June Monthly kit reveal.

This month's kit, All Aboard, features the entire Destination Line from Simple Stories. It includes all 12 papers, alpha sheet, fundamentals sticker sheet, Tim Holtz Distress Stain, some Kaiser wood buttons, ribbon and of course 8 sheets of cardstock.

Here is an excerpt of work from the Design Team:

Lorraine made these stunning cards using the "journal/title" cards - gorgeous, don't you think? (Pssst...and there is still more than half a sheet of paper left! As well, Lorraine used the kit transparency on her card front too.)

From Laura we have this terrific layout ...

Don't you adore the fussy cutting and the darling scalloped edge?

OK this is a sneak peek at the kit insert...don't tell! Here is the front of Wendy's suitcase album...remember, don't tell I showed you! Isn't that album to die for????

From our guest designer, Gail, we have a stunning layout from one of her vacations. (Gail, can I please be a stowaway in your luggage for your next trip???? Please??? :-))

Those postage stamp accents are perfect!

Melissa, our other guest designer, created this sweet layout - I love how versatile this kit is; don't you?

I think you will agree that the team did a fabulous job with the kit!
