Beautiful Memories

Hello All!

We've come to the final project from our Creative Team for the Scrap Shotz May Kit-Shimmering Sapphires. This one is from Virginia and she'll also give us a little insight into her creative process:

"I love the options I have in using the double sided pattern papers of the Kaisercraft paperline in the kit. Can you pick out the different pieces of pattern paper? The coordinating spray, die cuts and stickers made putting this layout together a breeze. (Don't forget to to include a picture of yourself too in your layouts!)"

I love all the die cuts used on this layout and those pearls are the perfect finishing touch.

That's it for May kit projects, we'd love to see how YOU use our kits if you're a subscriber, share them here, on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram @scrapshotz. We'd love to see anything you've created with products from Scrap Shotz😃.

June kit projets will be coming very, very soon along with a special announcement so stay tuned to the blog.

Scrap Shotz May Kit Project with Virginia

Hi There!

Virginia is here with another gorgeous layout featuring the May kit:

The offset photo placement is balanced by the block of paper strips and anchored with the full width of woodgrain paper along the bottom.

The quote sticker provides a resting place for the photo and quote blocks. Die cut and fussy cut butterflies lead the eye around the page. Pearls add a nice bit shine in addition to the butterflies misted with the kit spray.

June kit add ons are now available along with kit subscriptions so pop in to the store and see what's next up in our kit program😊

Thanks for coming by!

The Sweet Life A May Kit Project

Good Day Everyone!

It's Rosie back with one more of my kit projects for May, this time a double page spread!

The blues in my vacation photos from Hawaii coordinate perfectly with the blues in this kit. An easy way to unify both side of a double page spread is to mirror your patterned paper placement which you can see above with the woodgrain paper in the centre and the blue pattern on the outer portion.

I punched circles with my circle punch and then embellished select circles with kit gems.

A mix of kit die cuts and fussy cut elements (butterfly and LOVE) combine to form a unique embellishment cluster.

It's not too late to purchase a May kit subscription, click here if you're interested!

Vacation with the May Scrap Shotz Kit

**Please Note: Photobucket very recently changed their terms of service and no longer supports direct linking for 3rd party hosting of images. To view the images not displayed, hover and right click over image, then choose either "open image in new window" or "open link in new window" **

Greetings Friends!

Virginia is here again to share this vacation layout created with the May kit featuring the Kaisercraft Indigo Skies collection:

"I wanted to add some subtle texture in the background for the waves and wind from the day and popped up random areas."

Virginia does a great job journaling with the kit die cuts and stickers and if you look closely you can see gold thread around the butterflies.

This is a versatile paper collection, we've seen birthday, travel, vacation and everyday life photos so far in the project reveal.

Thanks for stopping by!😊

Birthday Wish

Hello!
I hope you're enjoying the May kit reveal, Virginia is sharing this lovely layout with us today so let's hear from her:

"This layout was made with my pattern paper off cuts solely. I love the beautiful pattern papers and how well they complement each other. I used dies from my stash to create a title for my photo again using offcuts."

A vellum banner softens the patterned paper layer and keeps the focus on the sentiment.

We are looking forward to sharing the remainder of Virginia's projects with you so come on back tomorrow 😃.

May Scrap Shotz Kit Sketch Projects

Hey there!

Sketches are a great inspiration/jumping off point for a layout design, theme or blueprint.
The team creates a layout based on a sketch for the project kit reveal every month and here is the sketch we chose for May:

You can't go wrong with a Pagemaps sketch and Virginia picked a lovely one, here is my layout:

Lots of die cuts and stickers are included in the kit so I used them to echo the florals in the sketch.

I used foam tape on some of the die cuts to raise them up and add visual interest.

Nuvo crystal drops in Midnight Blue create a dotted patterned paper around the photos and die cuts.

Here is Virginia's take on the sketch:

and she also used the sketch to create this lovely card:

We would love to see YOUR creations with the sketch and kit! You can post them here in the comments, on our FB page OR tag @scrapshotz, #scrapshotzkitmembers on Instagram.

May 2017 Scrap Shotz Kit Reveal...Hello

**Please Note: Photobucket very recently changed their terms of service and no longer supports direct linking for 3rd party hosting of images. To view the images not displayed, hover and right click over image, then choose either "open image in new window" or "open link in new window" **

Hello!

It's Rosie, back with a couple of cards made with the Scrap Shotz May kit.

One of the kit add ons is this Hero Arts Ombre ink pad used in the card above.
To create the inked background, press the stamp pad on white card stock, let dry and then trim.
Choose 2 coordinating patterned papers, trim to size to fit a 5.5" X 4.25" card base, adhere to card base offset and using foam tape.

Hello is die cut using the Avery Elle Simply Said Hello die, not in stock but can be special ordered.
Glossy Accents is generously applied over the die cut and then adhered with foam tape over inked card stock.

Dollar Store sequins add some shine and the card is ready for giving😁.

When I received this kit I thought it would be perfect for a fabulous Father's Day card and I still think so, BUT I didn't get one done😬, instead I made birthday card.

2017-06-12_0010
I heat embossed the stamped flowers with silver detail embossing powder on watercolour paper and then coloured with the Hero Arts Ombre ink pad and a water brush for the flowers. The green leaves are coloured with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours.

If I manage to whip up a Father's Day card with this kit I will post it as a bonus project so make sure you keep checking back here to see what happens!

Thanks for taking a look😃

Hello and welcome back to the blog for another kit project featuring the Scrap Shotz May Kit😊.

I began this layout with laying out paper strips on card stock paper. As I laid out the pieces and then placed the photo on top I felt it needed a little something so I moved the strips and applied Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glaze through a Vicki Boutin Stencil from the March Scrap Shotz kit, kits for March are still available if you'd like to get your hands on one.

After the glaze dried I decided where my photo would go and then sprayed white mist in the upper left and lower right of the page and let dry. Once dry I arranged and adhered the paper strips as desired, some with foam tape to add visual interest.

I then placed the photo where I wanted but felt like it got lost on the paper strips so I die cut a piece of white card stock with a Taylored Expression die and used that die cut as a mat under the photo.

The photo mat is embellished with kit die cuts and kit gems; kit stickers are attached with foam tape to create the page title:

Kit die cuts complete the layout.

The misted background looks tailored made for the die cuts however this was a happy accident. I was going for a nice "misting" and ended up with 2 distinct "sprays" but they became the perfect place for these kit die cuts.

This kit is still available for subscription purchase  along with all the add ons-with the exception of the stamp which is sold out.
Just a reminder that a kit subscription commits you to 3 months of kits ONLY, single purchase kits will go on sale after the 21st of the month if available.

Thanks for spending some time here! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on what's in the store, sales, our kit program and don't forget if you see something you just "gotta have" on the web, contact Sandy at info@scrapshotz.com to place a special order.

Planning with the May Scrap Shotz Kit

**Please Note: Photobucket very recently changed their terms of service and no longer supports direct linking for 3rd party hosting of images. To view the images not displayed, hover and right click over image, then choose either "open image in new window" or "open link in new window" **

Hi All!

I am back with another project created using the Scrap Shotz May kit and it's different from the layouts and cards, it's a planner spread!

My planner is quite plain and simple, mostly because I am hurrying to catch up on it rather than working ahead 😉, that would be "planning"😂.

Having the kit on hand was a great opportunity to get a jump on my planner and work on my July monthly spread.

2017-06-12_0004
I am using the Simple Stories Carpe Diem planner in the A5 size. Monthly inserts are blank and I have added the numbers from a Carpe Diem number stickers pack. The remainder of the spread is decorated with various items from the May kit.

Border at the top is from the sticker sheet and butterfly is chipboard die cut, both included in the kit.
Butterflies are inked with the add on ombre ink, then sprayed with the Aqua mist also included in the kit. The blue flowers are stamped with the kit add on stamp {sold out} and the ombre ink.
A kit quote sticker and kit die cut camera embellished with a kit gem complete the top left of this spread.

The bottom right hand page holds a quote cut from the patterned paper along with stamped flowers embellished with kit gems. The "let's party" sticker is from the kit sticker sheet and the "t.g.i.friday" sticker is from my stash.

Let's take a look at the bottom left hand page:

the Joy phrase was cut with my paper trimmer from the quote paper in the kit. The sticker on the 9/10 is from my stash.

If you are a planner person, the little bits and leftovers are great to use in your planner layouts.

We are working on revamping our website, design team, and adding some features to our kit program, all happening over the next few months, so stay tuned to the blog, Facebook and Instagram, for details.

June kit add ons are up on the website so click the link to view and purchase. The June kit features a local Calgary company, Wild Whisper Designs and Scrap Shotz is thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with them in putting together this kit.
Just a reminder that you can subscribe to our kits for only 3 months and then go month-to-month if you choose.

Link us up to your May kit projects-or any kit project- if you'd like to share them, here in the comments, we'd love to see what YOU create😊

Choose Happiness

This paper comes with 'Choose Happiness' printed on it in silver and is included in the kit.
To start I, placed the outline portion of a Silhouette cut file I saved from a previous project and made stitching holes with my paper piercer. I stitched the outline with blue floss from Walmart:

White texture paste was mixed with the aqua Kaisercraft mist that is also included in the kit, and then spread inside the stitched area as you can see above.

The layout is accented with kit die cuts, butterflies fussy cut from patterned paper and gems included in the kit.
