October Kit Projects with Cathy

WOW!! The October Monthly Kit from Scrap Shotz is amazing! Cathy here with my first two projects using the Beautiful line from Simple Stories. My first project is my layout based on the sketch from PageMaps

Here is my take on the layout.

My daughter is the lovely face in the pictures. I have never worked with a layout before but I sure will again. What a great way to get your pages started!

I was excited when I saw the ticket shape in the sketch since I knew I had some ticket dies that I had gotten and barely used! I die cut on the tickets and then used the small planner stickers from the Beautiful line to add some pop to them. The smaller stickers in the kit are perfect for adding some interest and not overwhelming the picture.

Using some more of the stickers to embellish the tickets, I love the gold!

For this little section I used a piece of the sticker stock that comes in the paper pack, hole punched it before adhering it. I then added the little banners and used a strip of washi tape over them both.

I used a couple of the chipboard pieces and those I attached with pop dots to give them some dimension.

For my second project I decorated an old black bucket I had. I wanted to use this little metal bucket for storage on my craft table and it was perfectly fine. Then I saw this month's kit and I knew this little bucket was going to get a make over.

I used pieces from the paper pack and cut them to fit my bucket. I used pink polka dot and on the back I used the pink stripe. The Hello Beautiful card is from the paper pack as well, it comes on a cut apart sheet with great sayings. I did round the corners before I attached it.

I used the black and gold polka dot paper and my TH Tiny Tattered Florals to create the flowers and the flourishes are some dies I had in my stash. I hot glued the flowers on to make sure they stuck well.

I also used the TH Wildflowers die to fill in some of the space around the bucket.

I used the Tiny Tattered Florals so that there was some dimension to it, but not so much that the flowers would get knocked off when it got moved around. So now I have a much prettier storage container on my craft table, and who wouldn't like to see the words Hello Beautiful some times!

So glad you stopped by to see what the team is creating with the October Kit! Stay tuned for more kit creations and more posts from the team using other products from the store! Have a great long weekend everyone.
