Simple Stories Layouts - Simple Vintage Winter Woods

Hello, my friends! Today I am sharing layouts created with the January Scrapshotz kit. This kit features the Simple Stories "Simple Vintage Winter Woods" collection, and it is gorgeous. We have had a cold winter, but I have found plenty of opportunities to take photos of the season. These photos were taken in and around our farm. I love to use quotes and this layout, although not my favorite time of year, fit this quote perfectly.

I used the foam stickers for the title and a chipboard embellishment at the top. A trio of brad embellishments finished it off. I love the new brad embellishments! They don't actually have the prongs on the back! They are mounted on a foam dot and you can put them anywhere on your layout with ease!

For my second layout, I got out my exacto knife and cut around the embellishment on the patterned paper, so that I could tuck my photo behind it. I cut one of the 3x4 journaling cards into 2 pieces to use as a mat for my photo, and layered it with another. Once again the foam stickers fit my layout title! I used some chipboard and some ephemera pieces for additional layers, some with foam and some without. I used washi tape and brads as well as another winter quote, this one from Charles Dickens "Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of it's own." 💖

My third layout features a photo taken by a local lady who's photography I admire. Linda Long has an artist's eye and I love the "around town" photos that she takes. I mounted this one on layers of ephemera, chipboard and brads, using tickets and word plates inter-mingled in. I'm not really comfortable with all the ephemera layers, but I am pleased with the final result.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope my next layouts feature something besides frost and snow!!! Lol!

Vicki Boutin Print Shop - Scrapshotz October Kit

Hi! I am having so much fun with the American Crafts Print Shop by Vicki Boutin line! It is so versatile and fun.

It's not often that I am allowed to use pink on a hockey photo for the boys, but this one is just right for it. I trimmed a piece of patterned paper 1/8" on all sides and matted it on a black base. The photo is also matted and popped up with black cardstock. The funky thickers are part of the kit, and I added a puffy heart sticker to dot the i. The rest of the embellishments are from the Paperie Pack. I love the variety of this pack and 200 pieces? Wow. I embellished with a trio of ink splats and a few more puffy hearts. I didn't want to put all the names of the players on here, so I put the program from that game in an envelope on the back of the layout. It lists all the players from both teams, so that's perfect.

I also used the patterned paper to create some cards.

Check out this line of awesome goodness! It is amazing! Vicki Boutin Print Shop is in the store!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cocoa Vanilla "No Limits" Scrapshotz Kit Take 2

Hello! I'm back with more layouts from the April Scrapshotz kit - Cocoa Vanilla "No Limits." What a fun patterned paper this one is! I used a No Limits Pocket Card for the journaling and embellished with chipboard and lightning bolts from the Die Cut Ephemera pack. Lots of foam used under various elements on this layout gives it depth and dimension!

Another hockey layout! This time I drew a border around the outside of the patterned paper with a black pen and used a phrase from the No Limits Die Cut Titles pack for the title. A couple of cards from the Pocket Card pack for a journaling spot and a ticket out of the Die Cut Ephemera to finish it off.

This simple card used a die cut from the Die Cut Ephemera and a word strip from the 6x12 Accessory Stickers. To add to the galaxy effect, I used some Tonic - Nuvo Dream Drops Enchanted Elixir for stars. So pretty! They add a shimmery glow to the background.

The main sentiment on this card was die cut twice with the Lawn Fawn Giant Thank You Die (available in the store!) from patterned paper out of the No Limits Paper Stack. The rest of the embellishments are from the 8x12 Chipboard sheet and the 6x12 Accessory Stickers. To give the card a little extra, I used Ranger Glossy Accents on all the bits as well as the die cut. I love the smooth shine that it gives the card.

This slimline card was created from bits and pieces from the chipboard, stickers and ephemera that makes up this fabulous line. I hope that I've inspired you to create with this awesome kit!

Cocoa Vanilla "No Limits" Scrapshotz Kit

I was thrilled to be able to work with the April Scrapshotz kit featuring the No Limits line from Cocoa Vanilla! This line is perfect for sport photos as well as almost any other event that life presents. I used it for this double page spread of my grandsons hockey season.

The title on the left side of the layout is from the chipboard embellishments. I wrote the journaling on a pocket card and the stars and banner are also from the 12x12 chipboard sheet.

The big titles on this side are from the Die Cut Titles. There are so many to choose from in this package! The stars and circle embellishments are from the Die Cut Ephemera package, and the word banners are from the 6x12 Accessory Stickers.

I had to use the paper from the paper stack to make cards! This big die cut was cut from the patterned paper with a Lawn Fawn die that is in the store here Big Hugs. I backed it with a second die cut in black and used small chipboard embellishments along with some Ebony Black Crystal Nuvo Drops that are in the store. This card would work for so many things.

For this card I used some starry patterned paper and a pocket card with some stickles on the letters. So colorful and easy! The stars are from the Die Cut Ephemera pack and got a Stickles treatment as well.

This card uses a sentiment from the Die Cut Ephemera package and word strips from the 6x12 Accessory Stickers. I used foam squares to pop up the sentiment and puffy stars to highlight the word strips.

Thanks for looking! I will be back later this week with more projects from this awesome line.

November Kit Club | Cards

Hello!

Rosie back to share a couple of cards I created with the November Scrapbook Kit featuring the Vicki Boutin Fernwood line!

The December Kit is now available as well and it features Simple Stories Vintage Weathered Garden so you can subscribe beginning with the November kit or pick up the single November kit and begin your subscription in December, it's your choice!

This card is created with a kit stencil and some Vicki Boutin pastes I've had in my stash for awhile. You can recreate it with whatever pastes you have or  just plain ink!

The sentiment is from the kit puffy Thickers and is adhered over a strip of gold card stock from my stash. A few Studio Katia crystals.

Do you still have border punches from back in the day?

I dug out some American Crafts Knock Outs punches to punch these borders for this card:

I layered the punched pieces over each other and the yellow kit cardstock.
The sentiment and embellishments are all from the kit stickers and journal ephemera.

The card front is adhered to an A2 white card base that has been edged with Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire ink. A trio of Nuvo Clear Crystal Drops complete the card.

This kit is so versatile so the limit on it is your imagination!

Happy Crafting!

All This Happiness and More

 Hello!

Rosie back with a few more projects using the April kit club kit featuring Pinkfresh Studios Keeping It Real collection.

Once again, I've put to use a sketch, this time the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Sketchy Group March sketch and I'm reliving a fun travel memory since there hasn't been any travel for awhile :).

I die cut some leaves out of the kit patterned paper with the Pinkfresh Studios Curvy Leaves die and layered them underneath the photos, ephemera and layout title.

The title is from the Vicki Boutin Color Study Sticker book, I placed it on white card stock and then fussy cut and added it to the layout with foam adhesive.

Now for a couple of cards; I've made a slimline and mini-slimline card:

If you struggle with the larger format of the slimline card, try out the mini slimline which measures 3 1/2" x 6".

For the regular size slimline I fussy cut a portion from one of the patterned papers and layered it over the coordinating "B" side of the paper adhered to the slimline card base. The fussy cut portion is popped up with foam to add dimension.
The sentiment is stamped directly on the patterned paper and is from the Poppy Stamps Diamond Sentiment set.

A few Studio Katia Iridescent Bubbles  and Tiny Bubbles finish it off with a bit of sparkle.

This mini slimline was a lot of fun to make! I put together the two layers of the Pinkfresh Studios Diamond Plaid Slimline layering stencils and inked with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink which is the newest colour from Tim Holtz.

I then cut a small piece of black card stock to ground a selection of  die cuts from the die cuts pack.

I stamped the sentiment from the Photoplay Say It With Stamps-speech bubbles- set and die cut with the coordinating die, popping it up with foam adhesive.  A smattering of Studio Katia Onyx Crystals complete the card.

Thanks for stopping in, Happy Crafting!

Scrapshotz Kit - Cocoa Vanilla "Sunkissed"

This line made me yearn for those warm, lazy, sunny summer days that I'm sure are on their way! I used photos from last summer to inspire you to get those fun, vibrant photos into your scrapbook!

I used the wood buttons and the stickers from the line. The title is stamped right on the layout!! Brave, right? I guess the worst thing that could happen is that I would have had to cover it if it went wrong, but yay - it was pretty effective!

Another bright layout with ephemera and thickers from the kit. I used glossy accents on the cocktails and some distress inking on the banners, as well as random foam backing. I added some messy doodling and a few enamel dots - DONE!

I loved the rainbow on this patterned paper so much that I hated to cover it. The gorgeous sparkly title words are from the line and there were so many great words to choose from. Some ephemera pieces and another super sunny photo and the layout is complete.

This trio of cards was created from scraps that were on my desk with some "Sunkissed" ephemera. Fun and easy!

Thanks for looking! I know that we'll soon have lots of beautiful summer photos to scrap. This kit will suit them to a tee!

"Enjoy the Ride" Altenew Scrapshotz Kit

Here is another layout using the awesome Enjoy the Ride line from Altenew. I  did a bit of modification with the chipboard title, cutting off the bottom words (Happy Day) to use it here. The leafy die cuts were in the ephemera pack and I like the way they break up the hard line of the photo mat. A border drawn with a black pen to frame the layout and it's complete.

I made some cards with the Altenew Mini Thanks Stamp set. I was able to use the new Tim Holtz color, Kitsch Flamingo to ink the edges of this one. I stamped the laurel leaves multiple time and popped them up below the white embossed sentiment. Topped it off with flowers from my stash and used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Carnation Pink for the flower center and accents.

This next card also used the Mini Thanks Stamp, along with a pink ribbon to highlight the pink flower centers in the patterned paper. I used green enamel dots to accent the sentiment.

I love the versatility of the sentiments in the Altenew Fancy Greetings Stamp Set. I stamped the "sending hugs" with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide, then used the Distress Embossing Powder in the same color to give it shine. This time the Nuvo Crystal Drops were Apple Green.

For this simple card, I gold embossed another sentiment from the Altenew Fancy Greetings set and die cut a flower from a Tim Holtz Foliage die from the photo mat before mounting my panel. I do this a lot, as no one sees under the panel anyway, and you can't let great gold foil cardstock go to waste!

That's it for me today! I hope you're all ready to get crafty with us tomorrow, February 19 at "The Great Scrapshotz Staycation Crop!" See you there!

Enjoy the Ride - Altenew - Scrapshotz Kit

Hi there! I was so excited to get the Altenew Enjoy the Ride Scrapshotz kit to play with! The vibrant colors of this kit reminded me of tropical vistas and I looked to a photo of a sunset in Puerto Vallarta. I used blooms and leaves from the ephemera pack and word strips from the chipboard elements. The edges were inked with Distress ink and the chipboard thickers were included in the the kit, too!

Then I got into using the ephemera for cards. I used some scraps of patterned paper, but also some pages from the Altenew Enjoy the Ride 6x6 paper pad that was a great add-on this month. You can still pick it up here.

I popped up the die cuts and used Nuvo Crystal Drops on most of these. I love the drops and they find their way on to most of my cards. They were also treated to a bit of shine with the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker.

This card also got a little love splatter from the Dina Wakely Gloss Spray in Eggplant. The sentiment here was cut out with the Taylored Expressions Well Rounded Die.

These next cards used the Altenew Fancy Hello Die. What a bit of elegance! Their dies cut so cleanly and are a joy to put down.

What a fun line to work with! I will keep dreaming of tropical views and temperatures as we make our way through this crazy polar vortex that the prairies are stuck in. That is the best reason to stay in and get crafty! Hope you can do the same. Thanks for stopping by.
