The Beauty of Sketches

I love love love sketches. They are a fabulous jumping off point for me especially when I am itching to create but am struggling with where to start. Most of the times when I use a sketch, I make at least 2 versions of the sketch simply by rotating the sketch or making a mirror image of the sketch or both!

Below is an interpretation of sketch by Valerie Salmon Got Sketch?

This first interpretation was almost an exact replica of the sketch. What I loved about this sketch is how easy it came together. 30 minutes and I was done!

SOURCES  Bazzill (card stock); Close to my Heart (card stock); BoBunny (pattern paper, layered chipboard); WRMK (chomper); EK Success (border punch); American Crafts (journal pen, alphas); Queen & Co (pearls)

Then I decided to make another layout by rotating the sketch. These pictures have been sitting on my desk...forever so I decided it was time to use them up! And here is the result.

SOURCES  Supplies: Bazzill (card stock); Authentique (pattern papers, alphas, die cut stickers); BasicGrey (raw chipboard); Tattered Angels (glimmer mist); Ranger Perfectly Pearls (clear shimmer mist); WRMK (chomper); Queen & Co (pearls)

So tell me, do you like using sketches?
