All Kinds Of Crafty Fun!!

Hello friends! Karla back today with an assortment of crafty projects using lots of goodies from the Scrap Shotz Store! If you got to check out the Scrap Shotz Facebook Live video yesterday, you will have seen these up close!! First up I'm sharing the brand new We R Memory Keepers Explosion Board. This is soooo cool and really well designed. I love those exploding boxes you see decorated with photos or just fun ephemera, and this makes it super quick and easy to create one or many in lots of different sizes using papers from 6x6 to 12x12. Why yes, this would be a great way to use up those pretty pieces of paper we've been hoarding - or maybe that's just me! 😉

The Explosion Board creates boxes in different sizes and styles, some with pockets, some with sides, some with hearts you can create with the included stencils, as well as lids to fit each size. You can layer these as I did below for an exploding box or create fun gift boxes individually! I used some of the fun Simple Stories Winter Cottage products to decorate the insides and lid of this pretty box. It would make a beautiful gift personalized with photos for a special friend or family member!

Be sure to check out the LIVE video linked below to see how quick and easy it is to add an extra layer into the box and decorate it! I even give you a little peek at each layer!

But wait! There's more!! The Explosion Board also creates gate fold cards and squash cards! I created an adorable little squash card below. It really is the coolest thing! By scoring three pieces of cardstock and attaching them you create a fun card that pops open. You can again add images, stamps, photos and then decorate the front to make a special keepsake card for any occasion!

I used one of the new Mama Elephant Flurry Frame Creative Cuts Dies to cut a pretty pink snowflake out of foil cardstock. The dotted detail is amazing! I layered it on my front cover and then added a foliage sticker from the Winter Cottage Sticker Book, a puffy snowflake from the Puffy Sticker Pack and a chipboard house and heart from the Chipboard Sticker Sheet. Some ribbon sandwiched between the squash card and the covers ties the ends to keep it closed.

Here's a look at the inside of the card when it's fully opened. I used papers and 2x2 square cut-aparts from the Winter Cottage Collection Pack as well as some sentiment stickers from the sticker book.

Lastly, I demoed this adorable card in the Facebook Live (linked below) using the awesome MFT Outside The Box die set and the new Snow Drifts Dienamics. With these sets you can create a box card so quickly! Whomever you give it to is going to be amazed!! I added some of the Winter Cottage paper and Paper Rose Snuggly Christmas paper to decorate the box using the dies included with the main set.

These adorable birds from the MFT Winter Songbird stamps are so perfect to add to a card like this! I really love the included greenery with the set. We actually made this into a winter birthday card in the Live, so be sure to check that out! I used Copic markers to colour in the images and then added detail with a White and Stardust Gelly Roll pens - new in the shop. I used some of the Nuvo Dream Drops to add shimmer to the snow drifts and add iridescent drops to embellish the card! There are many different sentiments included with this set - I know you'll love it!

You can see these projects close up, including a demo on how to make the box card, in the Scrap Shotz Facebook Live video. Click the link or watch below! There are many fun tutorials in our video links on Facebook, so be sure to check them out HERE!

Kate & Ash Collection - Double Page Layout!

Hello friends! It's Karla back today with a double page layout using the adorable Simple Stories Kate & Ash Collection! As soon as I saw the beautiful images and designs in this line I knew it would be perfect - not only to document fun times with my girls, but also to use it for myself!! I love the retro feel of the colours, and I can't wait to share with you the two page layout I created using the July SCT365- 2020 Sketch. These photos are from a few years ago, but this collection will easily be able to help me document current pics as well - especially since one of my girls is now a teen!

I used some coordinating green cardstock from my stash to create a frame and then layered on the pretty papers from the 12x12 Collection Pack. I love how there are cut apart sheets included as well as an awesome full size sticker sheet! I used fun pieces from the 6x12 Chipboard Sticker Sheet, Ephemera from the Bits & Pieces Pack, coordinating Decorate Brads & the fun matching Washi Tape to decorate my pages! You can find even more coordinating accessories in the Shop!

I chose some of the fun stickers and embellishments to coordinate with my Breakfast In Bed theme and layered my matted photos to match the sketch. I even used some of the awesome Paper Rose Shaker Mixes and some sequins from my stash to add more pops of colour! I love how the Decorative Brads include several cardstock ephemera pieces with brads attached!

I added some of the Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays onto both sides of the layout, matching the colours to the papers and using a piece of packaging to smoosh the paint onto the page. I even lifted the nozzle out of the spray bottle to add some fun splatters! I used some gold Thickers from my stash to add a title and cut one of the 3x4 journaling cards from the cut apart sheet in the Collection Pack.

The 12x12 Sticker Sheet from the Pack has lots of fun elements, including various sentiments that work great to layer on. I used the absolutely adorable Mama Elephant Boba Tea Shaker Die Set to create a cute little dimensional cup, adding a fun brad to the top! You can see all kinds of more fun cards using this Shaker Set in last week's Facebook Live!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the full Simple Stories Kate & Ash Collection in the Scrap Shotz Store, and be sure to join us for Live Videos on our Facebook Page!! We also have a Facebook Group - and we'd love to see what you're working on! Wishing you a crafty and very happy week ahead!

Back To School Teacher Card

Hello! It's Karla back today to share a cute teacher card for back to school. We have had a fabulous summer vacation, but I think we are all just a bit excited about heading back for another year and getting back to a routine. My girls of course want to bring cards for their new teachers, so I grabbed a few different stamp and die sets and combined them for a cute card with a fun mixed media background.

I started off by colouring in the Hello Bluebird Just Sayin' animals with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. They blended nicely on Bristol Cardstock stamped in Gina K Amalgam Ink. This is truly my favourite stamping ink! It can be used with Copics or watercolours like the Zig Markers.

I added the 'yay' and 'hello' sentiments from the Hello Bluebird set along with 'god bless you' from the Mama Elephant Mini Everyday Messages stamp set in the little signs the cute critters are holding. The 'Many Thanks' sentiment came from the Lawn Fawn So Owlsome stamp set. I just love how fun this card was by combining the stamps I had in my stash!

The background piece was something from my craft drawer from a day I'd been playing with some watercolour mediums and my craft mat. It worked perfectly to layer being a stitched window diecut as a base for this fun, bright card.

Inside, I used a sentiment from another school stamp from Studio Katia and coloured in the tiny ruler.

The crayons were just perfect for this card, and came in the Hello Bluebird stamp set along with the little scissors. I added Glossy Accents to the crayons and used some white gel pen to add highlights. And, of course, all teachers love gold stars, so I found three to add just a bit of bling!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope this has given you some inspiration to pull out different stamp sets and see how fun they can work together. Don't forget to check what's new in the Scrap Shotz Store, and have a very happy, very crafty week!

Faux Layered Background Die Card

Hi All,

Rosie here sharing a card using the Mama Elephant Circular Grid die

This Mama Elephant die cuts 12 circles, it works great with all the cute Little Agenda stamps Mama Elephant makes. After watching this Jennifer McGuire video I was inspired to create a layered background.

I decided to create a rainbow coloured background:

I cut panels from white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet card stock from my stash.

I started by layering the red panel behind the white panel, slightly offsetting it to one side so you can see a slice of red from the front.

I used liquid adhesive for the layers since it takes a little bit of time to dry so I could adjust the layer until it was right where I wanted it.

I continued adding the layers, in rainbow colour order, alternating from left side to right side. I used the white die cut as the guide for trimming the offset layers.

Once I finished adding all the layers I adhered the entire panel to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" white note card. I die cut "happy" with a die from my stash in black card stock and white heat embossed "birthday" from the Mama Elephant Happy Everything stamp set.

I finished it off with a coating of Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the happy die cut.

I love how this turned out, so much fun to make!

Mama Elephant Creative Cuts & More

Hello!

As promised, I am back with more Mama Elephant projects.

First up is this card using the Mama Elephant Offset Rainbow Creative Cuts:

I cut the rainbows and clouds from white card stock. The rainbows are coloured with Copic Markers in rainbow order-ROYGBIV, that's red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
The clouds are inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and the sentiment from the Flying With Friends stamp set is stamped on the cloud in black ink. I popped up an image also from the Flying With Friends stamp that has been coloured again with Copic Markers and die cut with the matching Creative Cuts.

Here's a close up look at the rainbow, I also added a glitter layer with a Wink of Stella clear glitter marker.

I arranged all the die cuts and glued on a white card stock panel which has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

This second card uses the Mama Elephant Circular Grid Creative Cuts.

I die cut 2 frames, one from plain card stock and the second from this coloured card stock in my stash.

I placed the plain die cut over a piece of copic friendly card stock and traced the circles with a pencil so I should know where to stamp the images.

I then stamped images from a variety of Mama Elephant stamps, Little Chickie Agenda, Little Monkey Agenda and Birthday Monkeys. I coloured them with copic markers and drew in a "high wire" for the 2 monkeys to hang from their tails. The mouse with an orange ballon and red ballon were stamped and die cut with the Flying With Friends stamp and creative cuts.

Next I adhered the die cut panel with liquid adhesive, stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink and clear embossing powder. I finished off the card with a few Studio Katia sequins.

My final card uses the Mama Elephant Flip Slider Creative Cuts and the Mama Elephant Little Chickie Agenda stamp set.

Here's a closer look at the die itself:

The solid die is the slider portion and the small and large rectangles are what flip when you pull the tab.

I cut the slider portion from yellow card stock, the large rectangles (4) from the Lawn Fawn 6x6 Spring Fling paper pad and the smaller rectangles (4) from copic friendly card stock
I then stamped images from the Little Chickie Agenda stamp set:
This stamp is not in the store, there is 1 available that's been used for this blog post so contact Sandy directly to order a set in for you or inquire about purchasing the set used for the blog post.

Various images were then stamped on the white card stock with copic friendly ink, I've used Gina K Amalgam black ink which is copic, watercolour and coloured pencil w/gamsol friendly!

After colouring the images with Copic Markers  I layered them over the patterned paper rectangles and then assembled the flip slider. I hope to get a video done soon of how to put the slider together, I watched a few YouTube videos to understand it and it's quite easy once you get it done the first time.

After assembling the flip slider I set it aside and worked on the card front. I applied Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone through the Altenew 6x6 Molded Lines stencil and set aside to dry.

The "Pull Here" is from an older Lawn Fawn stamp set called "Push Here". I stamped it and 'celebrate' in black ink on a hand cut banner and adhered with liquid adhesive after the paste dried.

I cut a portion from the Lawn Fawn 12x12 Unicorn Mane paper in the Really Rainbow Scallops paper pack and placed it on the lower portion of the glimmered white card front. I then adhered the flip slider with foam adhesive to make it easier to grasp the pull tab and embellished with  Pretty Pink Posh clear confetti.

Here's a last look at the flip slider card and a couple of links to YouTube videos walking you through putting it together:

I hope you've enjoyed these projects and make sure you come back tomorrow to check out more Scrap Shotz monthly kit projects!

Mama Elephant| Flying With Friends

Hello Scrap Shotz friends!

Rosie here to share with you some projects featuring Mama Elephant. This month I have the pleasure of working with lots of Mama Elephant products:

Using the Misti stamping tool I laid out the Friendship sentiments stamps over a Kraft card stock card front, stamped in Versmark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I stamped and copic coloured the image and die cut with the matching ME creative cut. I also die cut the same creative cut from the stamped card front, then inlay the coloured image within, popping up the stamped card front with foam adhesive.

This next card combines the Flying with Friends stamp set along with the Mama Elephant Cloudy Day Cover Creative Cuts.

I copic colored the stamped image and die cut it with the matching ME creative cut along with cutting a second layer from fun foam to glue behind the image.
After cutting the panel from the ME Cloudy Day Cover I lightly inked the clouds with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass ink.

The entire panel is then layered over a Distress Oxide inked card front in Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed.

The final card I am sharing today uses the little bitty inner white card stock pieces from the above die cut card front.
I inked a white card stock panel with the same colours listed above and spritzed with water to create the oxidized effect.

The white cloud "die cuts" were lightly inked with Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink and applied to inked card front with liquid adhesive.
Stamped images are coloured with copic markers and then adhered with foam and liquid adhesive.

I hope you've enjoyed these projects as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Product Reveal - Mama Elephant 2

Hello everyone! Gloria here, Today I want to share with you a card and a pair of tag set using Dragon wishes stamp set from Mama Elephant and Knock on Wood 6x6 inch petite paper pack by Lawn Fawn. These stamps were super popular at our last event so if you can't find them in the store, please email your request to order to sandy@scrapshotz.com.

The first project using masking technique.
Here is my first card :

For create this card, first I die cut a circle on a post-it paper and covered the cut paper on a center of the 4x5.25 inch white card stock. And blended the paper panel with Distress Oxide inks using mini blending tools

I added water splashes to the blended panel for creating a sun texture.

Stamped the message on the center of blended panel. Stamped the dragon images on a white card stock, coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut them.

I stamped some small images on the white circle and coloured with Copic markers.

Mounted all elements as shown a top-folded card white card base using adhesive foam tape and foam dots.

I made a pair of tag set.
Here is my second project :

First, I die cut the tags with Knock on Wood card stock by Lawn Fawn.

I stamped the messages on the white card stock and cut them. And then stamped dragon images on the white card stock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut them.

I stamped small images on the cut tags using Memento black inks.

Adhere all elements using double-sided tape and glue pen.

I hope you enjoy your stay and get some inspiration.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
Happy crafting!
