Fabulous Finds: Ella and Viv Paper Collections

Hello!

I was able to first try out this paper line while creating with the Tiny Houses die by Tim Holtz, click HERE to see that post. During that post I remarked how great the Ella and Viv Adventure Emporium line would be for Harry Potter Themed photos.
Our family was fortunate to vacation in Great Britain last summer so I have some photos perfectly suited to this line!

The paper on the left is from the Ella and Viv Adventure emporium line, perfect for these photos of the Kings Cross Station is London.
I added some Tim Holtz washi tape under the photo of the tube station at the top and began the title with alphas from a previous Scrap Shotz kit. How perfect is the paper for a layout about trains?
The right side of this layout showcases photos from the Kings Cross Railway station which is the home of the Harry Potter 9 3/4 platform and the Harry Potter Shop. I've added a couple of Tim Holtz journaling cards and a rub on. The buttons/brads are fussy cut from one of the Ella and Viv papers in the paper pack.

You can see all the Ella and Viv papers that are in stock or have been in stock right HERE. While this line is currently out of stock, you can email Sandy at info@scrapshotz.com to order this line, any line not in stock or inquire to order anything you are looking for.

Fabulous Find: Nuvo Glitter Paste & Tim Holtz Stencils

Hello!

Virginia has created some fabulous cards showcasing the Nuvo Glitter Paste. The paste applies smoothly and is so very sparkly. It looks equally fantastic on light and dark card stock as you can see below.

Virginia applied the paste though the Tim Holtz Floral layering stencil.  Click here to see all the Tim Holtz layering stencils offered in the store.

Using Nuvo Glitter Paste and stencils is a quick and easy technique to create a card that makes the recipient say ,"Wow!".

Travel Fun

**Please Note: Photobucket very recently changed their terms of service and no longer supports direct linking for 3rd party hosting of images. To view the images not displayed, hover and right click over image, then choose either "open image in new window" or "open link in new window" **

Greetings!

This Scrap Shotz April 2017 Kit is quite versatile as I hope you've seen from the previous posts.

Today I have a travel layout to share with you:

My darling husband and myself took a trip to Texas, him to attend a Dallas Cowboys game with his cousins and a friend.  Myself and our cousin's wife, S., tagged along for the stadium tour and went shopping on game day. We had a fabulous time, especially taking in those El Jefe (tequila/martini) drinks at On the Border Grill (I think??, can't find it online). This layout above features a photo of our nighttime approach to land at Dallas/Fort Worth airport and a selfie of myself and my hubby.

A close up of the journal spot and the WRMK frame board frame highlighting the Fort Worth/Dallas portion of the map patterned paper along with the travel die cut sticker.
I added a couple of portions of the Cowboys schedule to finish off the layout.

Thanks for stopping in, we so appreciate the time to take to read our posts! Cheers!

12 Be Fearless-Scrap Shotz April 2017 Kit-Interactive

**Please Note: Photobucket very recently changed their terms of service and no longer supports direct linking for 3rd party hosting of images. To view the images not displayed, hover and right click over image, then choose either "open image in new window" or "open link in new window" **

Welcome to another Scrap Shotz April 2017 Kit project and the star of this layout is my first grade 12 graduate.

I'll be honest, I ordered at least one copy of every image taken during my son's grad photo shoot. He graciously gave me permission to scrap them and post them online.
I was asked to create a sample using the Vicki Boutin reactive tissue for the Scrap Shotz NSD crop and this was what I camp up with.
At this point I was just figuring out the reactive tissue and handcut sunburst rays from various colours of tissue, laid down on Bazzil heavyweight card stock and then misted with water.
I didn't get the colour transfer I had anticipated so I lifted up the tissue paper, turned it over, placed it in the previous spots and misted again.
After letting the reactive tissue transfer dry, I applied Vicki Boutin Iridescent glaze through the kit stencil, let dry and then chose the photos for the layout followed by the die cuts.

I created an embellishment cluster next to the grad cap photo:
The photo frame and labels below the photo are from the kit die cuts and kit add on labels.

Journal pieces cut out from sheets of kit patterned paper provide the journaling area and quote title.

I love how wonderfully this kit showcases these special photos for my family!

Thanks for taking a look 😊

Scrap Shotz April 2017 Kit-XOXO and Otters

**Please Note: Photobucket very recently changed their terms of service and no longer supports direct linking for 3rd party hosting of images. To view the images not displayed, hover and right click over image, then choose either "open image in new window" or "open link in new window" **

Welcome here again for more kit projects created with the Scrap Shotz April 2017 kit.

I designed and cut this heart die cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
The middle heart is stencilled with the Vicki Boutin kit stencil, black watercolour crayon, add-on Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glaze and Tim Holtz distress ink from my stash.
Two hearts are backed with the Vicki Boutin hot pink, gold arrow patterned paper and the negative spaces of the 3 remaining hearts are filled with Nuvo Crystal drops, fussy cut butterfly images topped with iridescent glaze and a phrase sticker from the Vicki Boutin line,
The tassle is had cut from patterned paper, wrapped with Kaisercraft gold washi tape and the ends rubbed with Nuvo gold Glitter paste.

Next up is this sweet card:

This Mama Elephant stamp set is so sweet and has a coordinating die to make it easy to cut out the otter images.
Vicki Boutin Iridescent glaze was spread through the Tim Holtz Splash stencil on Bazzil card stock. Once the glaze dried, Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch was applied.
Otter images were stamped in black Memento Ink, then copic coloured. Red glitter heart was die cut from glitter paper with heart from otter die cut set.
A kit patterned paper piece is cut to size and embossed, hand cut banner is layered under circle shaker  frame which houses otters and dollar store sequins.
Sentiment is stamped in Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink and heat embossed with Stampendous clear detail embossing powder.

Thank you for stopping by and there are more kit projects to come!

Happy Birthday 7- April Scrap Shotz Kit

**Please Note: Photobucket very recently changed their terms of service and no longer supports direct linking for 3rd party hosting of images. To view the images not displayed, hover and right click over image, then choose either "open image in new window" or "open link in new window" **

Hi Everyone!

I think this is my most favourite layout of this kit reveal which is now available in the store as a single month purchase! There are also lots of add ons still available for the April kit, click here to see them!
The paper was a full sheet looking like a varicoloured wood floor that I cut down by colour and then hand cut fringes. It made me think of the layers on a piñata and birthday photos are a perfect match for a piñata right?

!
Lot's of fringe on this and I scribbled the Vicki Boutin black watercolour crayon on my craft mat, misted with water, picked up with a paint brush and then splattered on the layout by flicking the paint brush over the fringed paper, transparency mat, photos and layered die cuts.
The 'happy birthday' title is stamped with the Vicki Boutin floral stamp sentiment.

Here is a good look at the fringe and watercolour crayon flicking.

A close up look at the lower right corner embellishment cluster, kit die cut butterfly stencilled with Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glaze, and layers of kit die cuts over the top.

The May Kit and kit Add ons are now live, featuring the Kaisercraft Indigo Skies lines, click here to purchase add ons.
Thanks for stopping by and make sure you bookmark us to see more April kit projects in the coming days😀

Hello and Happy Mother's Day!

It's Rosie and I have a couple of layouts to share with you using the Scrap Shotz April 2017 kit:

This kit features the brand new Vicki Boutin Mixed Media line including the Vicki Boutin patterned paper. For our sketch project we've chosen this sketch from Creative Scrapbookers Magazine:
I so love all the circles on this layout! Here is my interpretation of the sketch:

I have used a 2" circle punch, 3" circle punch and die cut circles to create the circle die cuts.

There are a number of steps in creating this layout so I will list them to make it easier to follow my process:

1. Cut Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Reactive Tissue with die cut circles in red, light green and blue.
2. Lay out tissue circles in desired placement, make note of areas.
3. Mist white card stock in desired placement areas with water, place tissue circles and mist with water.
4. While tissue dries punch patterned paper circles and one acetate "paper" circle, choose photo.
5. Discard dried tissue paper circles and heat dry to completely dry if necessary. Use the die cut circles used to cut tissue paper as templates to pierce card stock for hand stitching.

6. Hand stitch pierced circles in coordinating colour of floss.

7. Lay out patterned paper die cuts in desired placement, choose title Pinkfresh Studio puffy sticker and Vicki Boutin stickers for journaling.
8. Add your choice of Vicki Boutin card stock labels and kit Die Cut Shapes. Embellish with Pinkfresh Studios puffy heart and arrow stickers.

I hope you've enjoyed this step by step look at this kit project layout. Feel free to leave any questions in the comments and thanks for stopping by😊

April 2017 Kit-Project Reveal with Virginia

Hello Scrap Shotz Friends!

Scrap Shotz is thrilled to bring you the debut line from fellow Canadian Vicki Boutin in our April monthly scrapbook kit. The line is full of happy colours, pops of gold and mixed media goodness 😀.
Click here to see all of the Vicki Boutin goodness available at Scrap Shotz.

DT member Virginia is up first sharing her projects created with this lovely kit and some details on her creative process.

"The April monthly kit featuring Vicki Boutin has been a joy to work with! All of its components had my brain working in overdrive with ideas to try! This is my first project with the kit and some added products from Vicki Boutin Mixed Media line (Scrapshotz kit add ins). As you know I am a big fan of the gold and iridescent glazes in Vicki Boutin's lineup. I used the glaze to glam up the butterflies, as an adhesive to the chunky glitter and mica flakes and through Vicki's stencils to create a pattern for the wings. Those die cuts are vibrant bold and versatile! I love this paper line ❤️"

"In the kit I discovered a few sheets of specialty papers too - ooh la la! This layout makes use of the gold foiled transparency which is complemented by the gold foiled die cuts - yum! Those Pinkfresh Studio puffy phrases are simply divine"

"I've been so excited and inspired by this April. Can you tell how much I love the die cut elements and the gold glaze???? I love layering with the accents!"

"The background under the transparency was created by watercolourizing (I made up that word) with Vicki art crayons. Once dried I added layers of pattern paper and die cuts to surrounded my daughters lovey. A big thumbs up to the specialty papers and gold foiled accents in this gorgeous kit."

The team is using the May monthly sketch challenge from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine:

"This is my interpretation of the current CSM sketchy challenge. As well I had another opportunity to play with the Vicki Boutin mixed media products. Here the gold glaze was added for bits of texture with a Vicki Boutin stencil. I also added some depth to each butterfly with a direct to paper and baby wipe smudging technique using Vicki's new crayons. I love color and decided to add some water coloring elements to the patterned paper by dissolving the crayon pigment with water. I can't say enough how fabulous this kit is!"

Wow! Great job with the April kit Virginia😀 and thank you for giving us some insight into your creative process with this kit.

I'll be back in a bit with more projects created with this fabulous kit, thanks for stopping by!

Of course a huge thank you to all of our NSD croppers most of whom are regular shoppers in the store as well. We hope to see you all back for our Fall Crop sometime in October.

If you attended the crop hopefully you had a wee bit of time to take a look at all the samples the team created.  I was tasked with the Sizzix Alterations dies

and here is what I created adding in stickers from the Scrap Shotz March kit along with Nuvo Crystal Drops and Distress Spray Stain.

This paper is stunning in real life, it will make fabulous Father's Day cards and I think it would be outstanding for Harry Potter themed layouts.

I'll be back shortly to share the team's April Scrap Shotz Monthly Kit projects, be sure to follow Scrapshotz on IG to get the first look at the most current projects.

Happy Crafting😊
