Project Life: Week 3

Welcome to another instalment of Project Life with Rosie!

"This week I have added some inserts by way of an 8x10 page protector...a handout from a high school open house my oldest son and I attended and some artwork my youngest created for me."

And here is the other side...

and here are a couple of detail shots, the two lower 4x6 pockets, I cut down the photos and adhered them to 4x6 lined patterned paper which I then used to journal on. This solved my dilemma of mo journaling space but not enough photos to make a 2 page spread.

Here is the journaling and if you look at the left side photo I wrote directly on the photo with my "smashstick" pen, I love the fine tip on it.

Here is a close up of one of the 3x4 photo pockets, I used my Smash pen to outline and handwrite directly on the photo, something Ali Edwards does that I love!

This week is a mix of papers from my stash and the Becky Higgins Clementine core kit.

Thank you Rosie - we love being on this journey with you!

Project Life: Welcome

It seems many of our members are participating in Project Life this year - it is a wonderful project and is a beautiful anthology of your year. We are so lucky to be following Rosie Neustaedter as she works through Project Life and shares her album with us.

A word from Rosie...

"Welcome to Project Life 2013. This is my second year taking on this project and I am thrilled to be able to share it here with you.

There are many different ways to approach this project and honestly if you are not a scrapper or you love the creativity aspect of scrapbooking, this project can work for both! I am using one of the Becky Higgins core kits and primarily Design A page protectors which is the design used for week 1 and 2. In my opinion, the divided page protectors are key in keeping up with this project as they give you the framework/layout for each spread. I will be tracking my family one page per week, you may be an uber photographer and use 2+ pages per week or you may prefer 1 page per month. I encourage you to choose the approach that works best for YOU, there is no one way to approach this project. I will be using a combination of items from my stash and the Clementine and Seafoam core kit until my newly chosen core kit arrives.

Sandy is taking preorders for the new core kits and all the Project Life products; please contact Sandy with your Project Life needs. I would love to take a look at your Project Life pages so feel free to leave a link here so I can visit!"

Thank you Rosie!

It's the Little Things...

Our hope at Scrap Shotz is that 2013 is turning into a wonderful year for everyone. With CHA Winter just around the corner, we are excitedly waiting for all the new goodies to appear. Several manufacturers have created products with Project Life in mind, the brain child of Becky Higgins. There are several Scrap Shotz members who are Project Lifers. I am excited to announce that Rosie Neustaedter will be sharing her Project Life album here on the Scrap Shotz blog - I can hardly wait Rosie!

As an amateur photographer, I encourage you all to open your field of vision to the little seemingly inconsequential acts in your life for those are the memories which add such depth to our scrapbook pages and of course Project Life! Below is an impromptu photo shoot I had of my 2 impish daughters. We happen to be sitting at a cafe with a large east facing window offering beautiful lighting...I whipped out my DSLR to capture the girls being silly...in our house, I call it a "Bugaboo Moment!"

Supplies:  Bazzill cardstock; Making Memories (pattern paper, sequins, die cuts); American Crafts (alphas); Prima (pearls); ribbon (source unknown); Kaisercraft (nylon butterfly); Authentique (mini alphas); stitching

Are you tackling Project Life this year? I would love to know.
