All Kinds Of Crafty Fun!!

Hello friends! Karla back today with an assortment of crafty projects using lots of goodies from the Scrap Shotz Store! If you got to check out the Scrap Shotz Facebook Live video yesterday, you will have seen these up close!! First up I'm sharing the brand new We R Memory Keepers Explosion Board. This is soooo cool and really well designed. I love those exploding boxes you see decorated with photos or just fun ephemera, and this makes it super quick and easy to create one or many in lots of different sizes using papers from 6x6 to 12x12. Why yes, this would be a great way to use up those pretty pieces of paper we've been hoarding - or maybe that's just me! 😉

The Explosion Board creates boxes in different sizes and styles, some with pockets, some with sides, some with hearts you can create with the included stencils, as well as lids to fit each size. You can layer these as I did below for an exploding box or create fun gift boxes individually! I used some of the fun Simple Stories Winter Cottage products to decorate the insides and lid of this pretty box. It would make a beautiful gift personalized with photos for a special friend or family member!

Be sure to check out the LIVE video linked below to see how quick and easy it is to add an extra layer into the box and decorate it! I even give you a little peek at each layer!

But wait! There's more!! The Explosion Board also creates gate fold cards and squash cards! I created an adorable little squash card below. It really is the coolest thing! By scoring three pieces of cardstock and attaching them you create a fun card that pops open. You can again add images, stamps, photos and then decorate the front to make a special keepsake card for any occasion!

I used one of the new Mama Elephant Flurry Frame Creative Cuts Dies to cut a pretty pink snowflake out of foil cardstock. The dotted detail is amazing! I layered it on my front cover and then added a foliage sticker from the Winter Cottage Sticker Book, a puffy snowflake from the Puffy Sticker Pack and a chipboard house and heart from the Chipboard Sticker Sheet. Some ribbon sandwiched between the squash card and the covers ties the ends to keep it closed.

Here's a look at the inside of the card when it's fully opened. I used papers and 2x2 square cut-aparts from the Winter Cottage Collection Pack as well as some sentiment stickers from the sticker book.

Lastly, I demoed this adorable card in the Facebook Live (linked below) using the awesome MFT Outside The Box die set and the new Snow Drifts Dienamics. With these sets you can create a box card so quickly! Whomever you give it to is going to be amazed!! I added some of the Winter Cottage paper and Paper Rose Snuggly Christmas paper to decorate the box using the dies included with the main set.

These adorable birds from the MFT Winter Songbird stamps are so perfect to add to a card like this! I really love the included greenery with the set. We actually made this into a winter birthday card in the Live, so be sure to check that out! I used Copic markers to colour in the images and then added detail with a White and Stardust Gelly Roll pens - new in the shop. I used some of the Nuvo Dream Drops to add shimmer to the snow drifts and add iridescent drops to embellish the card! There are many different sentiments included with this set - I know you'll love it!

You can see these projects close up, including a demo on how to make the box card, in the Scrap Shotz Facebook Live video. Click the link or watch below! There are many fun tutorials in our video links on Facebook, so be sure to check them out HERE!

October Kit Reveal with Two Fall Layouts!

Hey there friends! Karla back today with two fresh Fall layouts using the fabulous October Scrapbook Kit featuring the Carta Bella Hello Autumn collection!! 🍂 You're going to love this beautiful kit, perfect to document any Fall activity!! I had fun using it today to complete two layouts of our visit to a local Cornmaze here in Calgary, but I'm definitely going to be getting our Fall photo shoot and Thanksgiving pics out too! It would totally work for pretty fall cards too!!

One of the things I love about Carta Bella paper is the thick, textured feel! I love this watercolour look pumpkin paper too - and of course I had to use it with these awesome pumpkin pics!! I used a sketch from the CSM October Sketchy Challenge to kickstart the design of my layout. You can find all the previous sketches and lots of inspiration in the group HERE!

I used elements from the Chipboard and the 12x12 Sticker Sheet to create some fun clusters on the page. I just love this old farm truck!! I used my Cricut to cut a cute pumpkin patch title and added several sentiment stickers from the Sticker Sheet as well as the Hello Autumn Sticker Book, one of the amazing add-ons available.

I layered more of the stickers and chipboard on, and even popped up some of the leaf stickers as well as adding little adorable acorns (and check out the squirrel at the top of the layout!) from the add-on Puffy Sticker pack! I might have had as much fun scrapbooking with these awesome supplies as I did visiting the Cornmaze... 😉

For the second layout I used a sketch from Jennifer Edwardson's Makin' More Memories Sunday sketch Live. She actually embossed on the left side of her layout, but I decided to use the cute leaf stickers from the 12x12 Sticker Sheet to create a fun background element.

I used the fun customizable Thickers included in the kit and created an ombre effect with Distress Oxide Inks - of course using the new Crackling Campfire orange! Then I added some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter drops over top for a sparkly effect.

I added some splatters of Dina Wakley's Gilt Gloss Spray, which has a beautiful, metallic effect and some of the add-on Pumpkin Spice Leaves, which are so pretty!

I journaled on one of the cut apart cards from the 12x12 paper collection and added a banner from the Simple Stories Foam Stickers included. They match beautifully and have such lovely images and words!

Here's a look at the amazing bundle of products you receive in your kit! It's a fabulous deal and every month kit club members receive first choice of many fantastic add-ons available, plus a discount! Read all about the Kit Club Details HERE.

Here's a look at the LIVE Unboxing Video during our weekly 3 pm MST Thursday Facebook Live on the Scrap Shotz Facebook Page. I'm even giving a peek at some of the amazing add-on's available!! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram so you don't miss a thing!

Carta Bella, Home Again - Mini Album Flip Through

Hello, hello! Brande here very excited to show you a flip through of the mini-album I am making with the Scrap Shotz October Kit - which features loads of pretty products from the Carta Bella, Home Again collection and some Jen Hadfield wood veneer goodies too!

I have a whole bunch of black and white photos of my dad and his siblings when they were young and my grandparent's wedding and holidays that I have been waiting for the perfect collection to scrapbook. When the October kit showed up I found my collection. The Carta Bella collection, both in sentiment and colour palette, were instant ’heritage’ album inspiration! These photos are finally finding their mini-album home!

Here is a quick flip through of my album:

If you can believe it, I still have loads of products from the Kit left to play with. I will make this album one of those go-to "easy projects" on the edge of my scrappy desk. I like having an "easy project" on the go for when I don’t have much time or my creative juices are running low - with how amazing this collection is to create with and how easy it is to scrap black and white photos, this one fits the "easy project" criteria all the way.

Here are a few photos of my most favourite pages that are not in the page protectors - my lights when filming or photographing at night give an awful glare, these ones are glare-free for you. Check out the flip-through video above to see all the page protector and photo flip layouts too!

The album I used for this project is a Simple Stories, SN@P 6x8 album available from Scrap Shotz. You can find the albums in a variety of colours in the Albums / Refills / Magazines section.

Feels so amazing to get this project going - I cannot wait to show the family!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

March 2019 Kit - Traveler's Notebook Flip Through

Hello, hello! So excited to share this video flip through with you on so many levels!

I have just completed a complete Traveler’s Notebook (we are talking 4 notebook inserts here) of my hike of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in Wales in 2008.

My excitement? It feels so good to finally put the pictures, ephemera, and the words I journalled everyday while walking into a memory keeping solution. Makes me want to go back and walk it again! Seems time has washed away the loneliness that can come when walking alone, my Achilles injury, the blisters, the 102 fever from a spider bite infection, and walking in sideways pouring rain 16 of the 19 days. So glad I wrote all those feelings down at the time and had that to transcribe into this TN!

More excitement? I did it all with the Scrap Shotz, March 2019 Scrapbooking Kit. No joke. The ONLY things I added to this kit were adhesives, the TN Cover and TN notebook inserts, some string, journal pen and a date stamp.  I am so in love with the freedom of working from a kit!

Ok lets get to it - here is the flip through video:

Now I know its April and there is definitely some playing with my Scrap Shotz April 2019 kit going on in my B Hive (scrapbook room) but I was on such a roll with this decade overdue project that I just kept on, keeping on. So glad I did - even if I am sharing March in April.

Here are a couple of still shots from this TN:

I feel so excited to be done this project and feel like the March Scrapbook Kit was the prompt. One of my favourite things about being part of Scrap Shotz Kit Club is that you never know what will show up next month. It is not only a delightful surprise but also a prompt to maybe scrap that photo or project or event that hadn't quite got to the top of the scrapbook list. Like a trip from 2008!

Thanks for swinging by and happy crafting!
