Mixed Media Layout using the October Kit
I used some Distress Oxide Sprays in Crackling Campfire, Wild Honey and Twisted Citron to add a watercolour effect to the white cardstock in the background. The colours matched beautifully and add to the Fall feel of this Thanksgiving layout.
I used the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen and Green Deco Foil to add a shiny element to the cut apart journaling page and the chipboard Thicker (below). This is such a quick and easy no-heat way to add shine!
The assortment of stickers from the Foam Stickers, chipboard Thickers, icon chipboard and add-on Sticker book and Puffy Stickers were perfect to add to embellish the page!
Here's a look at the Video where you can find the full process!

October Kit Reveal with Two Fall Layouts!
Hey there friends! Karla back today with two fresh Fall layouts using the fabulous October Scrapbook Kit featuring the Carta Bella Hello Autumn collection!! 🍂 You're going to love this beautiful kit, perfect to document any Fall activity!! I had fun using it today to complete two layouts of our visit to a local Cornmaze here in Calgary, but I'm definitely going to be getting our Fall photo shoot and Thanksgiving pics out too! It would totally work for pretty fall cards too!!
One of the things I love about Carta Bella paper is the thick, textured feel! I love this watercolour look pumpkin paper too - and of course I had to use it with these awesome pumpkin pics!! I used a sketch from the CSM October Sketchy Challenge to kickstart the design of my layout. You can find all the previous sketches and lots of inspiration in the group HERE!
I used elements from the Chipboard and the 12x12 Sticker Sheet to create some fun clusters on the page. I just love this old farm truck!! I used my Cricut to cut a cute pumpkin patch title and added several sentiment stickers from the Sticker Sheet as well as the Hello Autumn Sticker Book, one of the amazing add-ons available.
I layered more of the stickers and chipboard on, and even popped up some of the leaf stickers as well as adding little adorable acorns (and check out the squirrel at the top of the layout!) from the add-on Puffy Sticker pack! I might have had as much fun scrapbooking with these awesome supplies as I did visiting the Cornmaze... 😉
For the second layout I used a sketch from Jennifer Edwardson's Makin' More Memories Sunday sketch Live. She actually embossed on the left side of her layout, but I decided to use the cute leaf stickers from the 12x12 Sticker Sheet to create a fun background element.
I used the fun customizable Thickers included in the kit and created an ombre effect with Distress Oxide Inks - of course using the new Crackling Campfire orange! Then I added some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter drops over top for a sparkly effect.
I added some splatters of Dina Wakley's Gilt Gloss Spray, which has a beautiful, metallic effect and some of the add-on Pumpkin Spice Leaves, which are so pretty!
I journaled on one of the cut apart cards from the 12x12 paper collection and added a banner from the Simple Stories Foam Stickers included. They match beautifully and have such lovely images and words!
Here's a look at the amazing bundle of products you receive in your kit! It's a fabulous deal and every month kit club members receive first choice of many fantastic add-ons available, plus a discount! Read all about the Kit Club Details HERE.

Family Quilt - Carta Bella Title Page
Hello! Brande here showcasing the October Scrapbook Kit inspired by the amazing Carta Bella, Home Again collection.
When this Carta Bella inspired kit showed up on my doorstep this month I knew I finally had the goodies I needed to get to that family heritage album I have been thinking about! I have all these amazing black and white photos of my grandparents from their lives before I was around or even before my father (their son) was around and I had planned to document them all in mini-album - now in progress!
In my next blog post, I will have lots of album pages to show you but I thought I would reserve this post to show you the title page I made for the album that I am just so excited about...
When I think of my grandparents I think of quilts, homemade food, the country, nothing too fussy, down to earth, smell of Old Spice and Lavender! So as I started to think about a title page for this album I wondered if I could create something resembling a quilt - and I think it worked!
I think this title page looks pretty fancy (if I do say so myself), I am here to admit it was so super easy to make! We are talking just 3 steps and some embellishment fun. No joke.
Step 1: select a bunch of different pattern papers (or scraps) from your kit and cut them into 2x2 squares. You could scale this size up or down if you want smaller or bigger squares and definitely go a little larger if you are working with a 12x12 album. I am working with a 6x8 album so I went with 2x2.
Step 2: create a tight grid on your background paper with the squares. You could do a diagonal design like I did or keep it all absolutely square - both would look amazing. I am awful at getting things in a straight line, so I tend to tilt all things a little to avoid trying. Having said that I still needed a ruler - I drew straight lines on the page at an angle, glued on the squares and then erased the pencil lines you could between see in the grid squares.
Step 3: sew lines down the square pattern papers to create that grid-like look or what I think looks likes a quilt. We just bought a sewing machine earlier this year, in its absence or if you do not have one - consider creating a delicate dashed line with a journaling pen to mimic the stitching. This honestly looks so great as well!
Step 4: embellish! I didn't want to take too much away from the quilt design so I kept my embellishments really simple. Some alphas, a couple of stickers and a few enamel dots from the kit - done!
If you give a quilt design a go on your projects, we would love to see it! Tag us on social media #scrapshotz so we can leave our love for your crafty-ness.
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Good morning!
Although the colours in this months kit are fabulous for all your fall photos there is also beautiful pink papers!
As scrapbookers and parents we are often the ones behind the camera and not very often do we step out in front unless it is a family photo! We need to be in the photos more often....
I began by tearing then layering the beautiful pink papers then I added some lace from my stash
to add a bit of colour I added some of the teal paper and a few teal flowers!
I created clusters using the flowers from the kit and add ons and some from my stash

More from the October kit!
Good morning!
The gorgeous chipboard from Southern Ridge trading company and the fabulous kit from Scrapshotz go great together!
I started by layering the fabulous Pink Paislee papers and chose the wonderful color scheme to carry on to the awesome Southern ridge chipboard!
I embossed the eye catching flourish in black then added some teal liquid pearls to accent the swoops!
It looks awesome against the grey and teal papers from Pink Pailsee
I added some flowers from my stash!
I embossed the family title in black too!

October Kit Projects...Take Two
Happy Friday the 13th everyone!! Cathy here with some more projects using the gorgeous Scrap Shotz October Kit, featuring the Beautiful line from Simple Stories! The October Kit is available now and there are add ons to go with it!
I love home decor, especially anything I can put on a wall or display on a shelf. I did this frame up using one of the cut apart sheets from the 12X12 paper pack. There are so many to choose from, but the best part is, you can change up the center card message whenever you like. I did this one using a vertical card but you can also do a horizontal version.

| I found this great frame at the thrift store for $1.50 and thought it would be perfect, already had a mat inside it too. I did not like the colour so a bit Dylusions White and Dylusions Black Paint and I have a frame I like. |
![]() |
| For the flower in the foreground I cut all the petals and edge them in black as well. |
![]() |
| More fussy cut flowers attached to the mat around the center card. |
I did leave the frame just painted and edged in Distress Ink in Black Soot, that way I can just change out the mat board inside to what ever design and colour I would like.
And for my last project this month I did a 5X5 card and a regular size card. The cut aparts from the Beautiful line are so great for cards. And I love the positive words and encouragement.

| The balloons are in the sticker book and are so adorable and the little tiny bow is one of the stickers too. |
![]() |
| This little circle is from the chipboard set and is layered on a cut out piece of matching paper. |
My second card is a regular size one.
![]() |
| I used a striped pattern on the bottom layering piece and then used the matching washi tape to add stripes. |
![]() |
| I fussy cut the feathers out of one of the cards and tucked them in behind the sentiment. And added the little bow on the top feather. |
![]() |
| The matching floral washi tape is gorgeous. Used it for the background and cut a small banner out of it for the top corner. |
![]() |
| Two different circle stickers added to the corner, and you can pop these up too if you want. |

| Yes the gold does shine that wonderfully!! |
Hope you have all had a great week and enjoyed seeing the incredible projects this week from Katelyn and Rosie!! Coming up next week, the Design Team will be showing you projects featuring items available from Scrap Shotz! Stay tuned!
