Scrap Shotz December Kit Reveal #2 - Virginia

Hello again,

Wow, the December Scrap Shotz kit has been so inspiring for me. I am super excited to share my December Daily with you. This year I've kept it relatively simple and focussed on specific moments of the day and a few days of reflections.

In the past I've used a Simple Stories binder and their inserts; they were part of a kit one year and let's say I was smitten! I kept the cover simple and focussed a lot on our story this year.

The first few pages of my album are shown below. All the supplies are from the December Scrap Shotz monthly kit or tidbits from previous Scrap Shotz kits.

My apologies for the glare on the glossy photos. They are from my Polaroid Zip, not the best but definitely fun.  You will see how much I love the satin alphas and dimensional stickers.

Subsequent days.... showcasing the rub ons and brads.

New for me this year is combining days together on a page. Also I cracked open my Fuse and used it to seal the glitter, sequins and beads in the pockets. It was SO SO easy; why didn't I use it sooner?

Here is a close-up of the pocket - what is fun is that you can shake it and it becomes a paper snow globe?

Here is the flip side of the page...

I have different shapes and sizes of pages, from giant tags to half circles. Some days I journal alot and others not as much. I include the good and not so good.

What I love about this kit is the amazing pattern papers as well as the accents. My foundation pages are created and awaiting pictures and just a few more of the enamel drops to go!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - thank you for dropping by!

Cabin Fever is Right!!

Hello again everyone! It's Cathy here with my take on the December Monthly Kit sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Here is the sketch we are following this month.

Here's my version of the sketch, featuring the Cabin Fever line from Carta Bella.

I used a picture that is about 7 years old, when my kids and I lived in Calgary and headed out to Zoolights.

I was afraid of the circles at first, since I do not have any of the cutting machines(just my handy Big Shot), but fear not.....there is much around your house you can use!! As you can see I had a variety of items to make my circles, and I heard from another DT member that pot lids are handy too!

A margarine lid, a cd and a lid from a Christmas banner.

For the background on my 12X12 sheet of blue, I used the TH stencil with white texture paste. Before the paste dried completely I sprinkled it with some Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder.

While I waited for the texture paste to dry, I inked all the edges on my circles.

Here are some of the details of the layout. The ephemera pack and the enamel dots are addicting!

The stay warm toque was cut out from one of the cards that comes on a 12X12 sheet in the paper pack.

I typed up my story and used the frame from the ephemera pack to highlight it.

Love the hint of sparkle and texture you can get just from adding a bit of Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder to texture paste.

I also did up a few more projects using the fantastic monthly kit.  I have two cards done up, using the cabin theme and the stickers that come in the paper pack.

On this card I used one of the cut apart cards from the paper pack for the background and the cabin picture is also one of the cut apart cards. The cabin plaque is from the ephemera pack with a couple of enamel dots added.

To add a bit of sparkle on this one I used some Stickles along the roof and on the snow on the trees.

This card uses the cut apart cards as well and stickers from the paper pack. Loved the little cabin snowglobe and it fit just right on the pine cone piece.

And my last project for today is a small 6X6 canvas board done using the cut apart cards, and Distress Crayons for the edge.

All the snowflakes are done with patterned paper from Cabin Fever and the TH Thinlits Snowflakes.

A few enamel dots for dimension and one of the pretty amber brads for the center of "snow"

Did I mention I love the enamels dots?! They were perfect for the snowman's little cheeks.

Whew....that was a long one! Hope you all made it this far to see all the different things you can do with the amazing December Monthly Kit from Scrap Shotz!

Here are some quick links for you to take you to the products I used:

Have a great week everyone!! And best wishes for a wonderful holiday to you and yours!

December Monthly Kit with Karla

Hello! It's Karla back today with another blog post featuring the amazing Scrap Shotz December Kit  and some of the fabulous kit add-on's again, and today I've created a 12x12 layout as well as a pocket page layout for you! Living in Canada, we get a lot of cold weather in the winter, so we might as well make the best of it and get out to do activities while we can. This kit, which includes lots of awesome elements from the Carta Bella Cabin Fever collection, is so perfect for all those winter pics!!

I used the pretty Thickers from the kit, which have a shiny coating on them, on the bottom of the layout. They are such a great size to make a nice big title!

I layered the papers on a piece of ivory cardstock from my stash and used some of the beautiful shiny snowflake paper which comes in the kit. I love the pretty brads and enamel dots layered over the ephemera along with some of the 'add-on' rub-ons and enamel phrases.

The pretty enamel snowflakes that come in the kit are so pretty layered over papers and photos - I love the clear backing!

When I have extra photos I really like putting them into a pocket page!

I cut apart the patterned paper with the 4x6 cards on it and used this pretty sweater pattern to layer on a couple pieces from the ephemera pack, a piece of the shiny snowflake paper and a photo cut to 2x2.

I cut the brown cardstock, included in the kit, to fit in the 4x6 pocket and added a 3x4 photo, rub-ons from the add-ons, a piece from the ephemera and some enamel dots. A white gel pen showed up nicely to add some journaling.

I used some of the cut apart 3x4 cards in the pockets and even added some of the patterned papers cut to size to create my own journaling cards. The stickers from the sticker sheet are perfect to layer on, and the neat Bundle Up sticker from the enamel phrases pack, which is an add-on, added a nice detail to my photo.

The cut apart sheet has such great printed journaling cards that you can simply tuck them into pockets without even adding anything else and they look great!

Thanks so much for stopping by! To subscribe to the Scrap Shotz kit club, you can check out this month's kit at the store, and the coordinating add-on's can be found here by scrolling down to the December 2017 section. I hope you have a warm and cozy week ahead, and have lots of fun creating!!

December Kit from Carta Bella

The December monthly kit is a MUST have! I liked the Cabin Fever line by Carta Bella when I saw it online, then I opened my December kit and....I am in love with this line! And it's not even images or colours that are my comfort zone. But I do love snowflakes (the fake paper kind) and the designs in this kit are so pretty! But enough about how much I love it and how about I show you my first project with this kit.
I made 6 tags using the kit and I thought they would be a perfect little pick me up for some of the girls at work.

I started with 6 kraft tags from Ranger, and then did 3 different backgrounds on them.

This background is done using the TH stencil, which is available as an add on for the December kit, Ranger Embossing Ink and Emerald Creek Soft Fallen Snow Embossing Powder.

For these two backgrounds, I used the stencil again, Transparent Texture Paste coloured with Finnabair's Art Alchemy paint, I used a pale blue but the Deep Waters available in the Scrap Shotz store would be gorgeous!

The last two were done with Distress Oxides in Iced Spruce, Lucky Clover and  Salty Ocean. Then I just took a make up sponge and dabbed some white gesso through the TH stencil.

For my layers I used one of the 12X12 sheets from the package and cut out all the little cards and decided from there which ones I wanted to use. I trimmed them, rounded the corners and then started choosing which embellishments I wanted to use. Everything goes together so great in this kit.

Here all 6 of my tags!
This one has a cut out card from the 12X12 sheet, enamel dots, the sweater is from the stickers sheet in the kit and I added the little chipboard snowflake.

Love the shimmer from the Art Alchemy Paints!
I think enamel dots could be my new favorite thing to add to projects! These ones are sharing the spotlight with the plaid brad.

You can see just a hint of the wonderful sparkle from the Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder.
I love this bear! I definitely would use him a few times. Added some of the gemstone brads and an epoxy snowflake.
This tag has a card cut from the 12X12 sheet (on the sheet I used it will give you 12 little cards to create with), stickers from the paper kit, chipboard, epoxy snowflake and an enamel dot. The Bundle Up is from the ephemra package.

Who doesn't love a good old fashioned sled ride? Dont forget you can get the enamel dots and brad sets as an add on for the December kit.
The snowman globe is again one of cut cards, but a similar idea is one of the 12X12 sheets of paper, on the sticker sheet and in the epoxy stickers.

For this one I added some irridescent stickles for the pom pom and Gilded Gold Stickles for the snowflake centers.
And my last tag. The snowman medallion, snow fun banner and small pennant piece are from the ephemera pack.

I had so much fun creating these tags. Head on over to the Scrap Shotz store and order your December Monthly Kit! You want this kit!

Happy Wednesday everyone and thanks for having a look at what can be done with the December Monthly Kit. And don't forget to go back to the previous posts and see what the DT is inspiring you with!
