Cocoa Vanilla "No Limits" Scrapshotz Kit Take 2

Hello! I'm back with more layouts from the April Scrapshotz kit - Cocoa Vanilla "No Limits." What a fun patterned paper this one is! I used a No Limits Pocket Card for the journaling and embellished with chipboard and lightning bolts from the Die Cut Ephemera pack. Lots of foam used under various elements on this layout gives it depth and dimension!

Another hockey layout! This time I drew a border around the outside of the patterned paper with a black pen and used a phrase from the No Limits Die Cut Titles pack for the title. A couple of cards from the Pocket Card pack for a journaling spot and a ticket out of the Die Cut Ephemera to finish it off.

This simple card used a die cut from the Die Cut Ephemera and a word strip from the 6x12 Accessory Stickers. To add to the galaxy effect, I used some Tonic - Nuvo Dream Drops Enchanted Elixir for stars. So pretty! They add a shimmery glow to the background.

The main sentiment on this card was die cut twice with the Lawn Fawn Giant Thank You Die (available in the store!) from patterned paper out of the No Limits Paper Stack. The rest of the embellishments are from the 8x12 Chipboard sheet and the 6x12 Accessory Stickers. To give the card a little extra, I used Ranger Glossy Accents on all the bits as well as the die cut. I love the smooth shine that it gives the card.

This slimline card was created from bits and pieces from the chipboard, stickers and ephemera that makes up this fabulous line. I hope that I've inspired you to create with this awesome kit!

"Paper Rose" Paper and Stencils & "The Stamping Village" stamps

Hello! Welcome to autumn! It's definitely harvest season around here, with the hum of combines running late into the night and the nip in the air even when it's sunny.

I have some cards to share with you today, using a collection of patterned paper from Paper Rose. This line is called Happy Days and is in a very convenient A5 size. The quality of this paper is amazing. It is very smooth without being glossy and is a nice weight for stamping and creating cards with. I also used a couple of Paper Rose stencils for these cards. They are both in the Scrapshotz store and are called Bamboo and Hexagon Scroll

The die cut sentiment on the first card uses the Altenew - Hello and Hugs Die Set and I have to say, these dies cut like butter! I cut the hello from the holographic card base, then used the base to mat the watercolor panel with the bamboo stencil. I used gold watercolor paint with the stencil and was really happy with the result. I found that you have to be patient and not get in a rush to watercolor through a stencil, but it's worth it. The second card using the Hexagon Scroll is stenciled directly onto the patterned paper with Distress Oxide. The sentiment is from The Stamping Village - Collaborative Stamp Set 4 We Stand With You. This stamp set has some great sentiments and is a collection of stamps from 12 different companies. Net proceeds from the sale of this stamp has been pledged to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, standing up for racial justice. The third card has patterned paper with the bambo stencil using Distress Oxide inks. The final touch on these last 2 cards is the triangle of Nuvo drops.

These next cards use The Stamping Village - Collaborative Stamp Set 4 We Stand With You
stamped right on the patterned paper. More Nuvo drops complete the cards. Quick and easy!

The last 3 cards use the paper from the collection and all have images cut out of a sheet of the pattern. The first card's butterflies got a bit of Star Dust stickle treatment and a sentiment from the Stamping Village - Collaborative Stamp Set Birthday The bloom on the second card has a glossy accent centre and the butterflies on the third card had a light sprinkling of Dina Wakley Gloss Spray - Carnation.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend!

Bro & Co - Simple Stories

Hello everyone! I have a couple of layouts to share today using the new line from Simple Stories called Bro & Co. This line is perfect for boys, especially teen boys, a subject that isn't always easy to scrapbook, and finding the perfect patterned paper can be a challenge!

This layout is created with an outside border of 1" and given extra interest by using foam tape under the inner layer of paper. I used a tag, ephemera, a few brads and foam stickers from the line to embellish it. I used a splatter of Dina Wakely "Cheddar" Media Gloss Spray on the blue paper layer and a couple of strips of co-ordinating washi tape as a lower border. The mats were cut from Simple Stories Basics kits from other lines. I love that so many of the Simple Stories colors are perfectly matched and are so easy to mix. They all have the same tones and shades.

The second layout I'm sharing is a grid design that I made using 2" photos taken from a movie that I recorded watching the kids play a video game called "RockBand." I cut up the sheet of 2" squares in the paper line and mounted both the photos and squares on 2.25" mats of cardstock and patterned paper scraps. A few of the squares were lifted with foam dots and I used brads to accent some of the squares. The title was created by printing the RockBand logo on a piece of patterned paper and fussy cutting it out.

Thanks for looking in! I will have some additional creations using this line in a little bit, so stop by again soon!

Simple Stories - Birthday Blast Cards

Well I had a lot of fun with this! The Simple Stories Birthday Blast line is perfect for birthday cards. So many options!!! I used the 6x8 paper pad, the sticker book, ephemera and the brads to create these cards and I have enough to go on creating for so many more! I added a bit of cardstock, stickles, foam strips and some die cut shapes from my stash. If you have any questions, please just ask!
For this one I drew the strings on the sticker balloons, added some brads and popped up a couple of the gifts. I punched the top corners of the card for interest.
Beautiful stripes from the 6x8 pad! This sentiment is from the ephemera pack. The brads kick it up a notch. Simple and so pretty.
The brad tag is from the line and the sentiment is from the sticker book. I mounted both on cardstock and added a few sequins for sparkle. If you cut the 6x8 paper in half you can get patterned paper for 2 A2 cards with a 1/8" outside border.
The ephemera pack and stickers have a lot of silver foil in them. This card really shines! I added a few little stars from my stash.
This paper says "Celebration!" I just added a bit of glitter pen on the popped up sentiment.
Thisrainbow card is perfect. I did add some stickle highlights to both ephemera pieces, just because!
I painted stickles on the balloons and added a few tiny iridescent stars. I use a little dollar store paint brush to add stickles this way. These stars are meant to be inside shaker cards, but they are a sweet highlight as an alternative to sequins.
Simple die cut frame, a bit of twine and foam dots to pop the sentiment and image. DONE!
This is another die cut frame with silver ephemera. ❤
I cut this frame out of the patterned paper and put the robot on foam dots. He is feeling festive with his sticker party hat!
For this one, I put the sticker on dark cardstock then fussy cut around it. The edge of the outside cardstock mat got a stickle treatment.
More stickles on the outside of this panel, with a sticker sentiment and a trio of brads to complete the card.

Thanks for looking at my cards. I know that there are so many possibilities with this line! I haven't even started with the more feminine line, Magical Birthday. All of this is in the Scrapshotz online store right now!

FYI, there is also two card kits in the store using these lines. Fabulous cards and so easy! Check them out here for Birthday Blast and here for Magical Birthday!

Stay safe and well!

Photoplay - Tulla & Norbert's Excellent Adventure Pt.2

Hi everyone! How's your May long weekend going? It's been a strange one with the current events. I have been busy in my craft room, playing with this fun Photoplay collection from Scrapshotz.com
This layout uses a lot of ephemera and stickers from the kit, along with some brads and ribbon from my stash. I love brads! This simple photo is so reminiscent of summer days at the lake. The best of memories.
The next layout was based on the Creative Scrapbooker's May Sketchy Challenge. Here is what it looks like.
I look forward to using their sketch every month. Sometimes it's just what I need to create something different than my usual style.

I moved a few things around to suit my photos, but kept the general idea of the sketch. I matted some of the stickers on white cardstock, which makes a sticker into more of an embellishment. 😎
I hadn't worked with Picket Fences Paper Glaze before. It is so creamy and lovely to work with! It comes in a lot of beautiful colors and are available at Scrapshotz. I will do more with it in the coming days, but started off with a simple background for my gnome Happy Birthday card. I also made some simple cards using the ephemera and stickers. These are such fun images in such happy colors!
The Polaroid frame is a Mama Elephant die, and the dots are Nuvo Glossy Crystal Drops in Caribbean Ocean. I love these drops. Perfect embellishments and they are available in so many colors and textures! Here's a link to find the assortment at Scrapshotz.
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to have a look at this collection for all your summer photos!

Stay safe and well.

March Scrapshotz Kit - Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Story - Take 2

Pastel rainbows and blooms! This pretty line of paper makes you long for spring! On this layout I used the rainbow to write my journaling. Under the matted photo, I put a trio of the lovely tags and at the bottom is a bit of popped up ephemera. A few enamel dots spread over the page and it was complete.
For my second layout, I found this older photo of my granddaughter and had to laugh! Since we are social-distancing and self-isolating, the world is worried about having enough toilet paper. This toilet paper pile is pure gold right now! I used a couple of frames to do my journaling in, and popped one on top of the other.
There is a cascade of blooms mixed with chipboard circles down the diagonal of the page and I used plenty of pop dots to give it dimension.
And finally, the cards from the scraps! I love using left over bits of ephemera and scraps of leftover patterned paper to create cards for my stash.
This one is just a tag embellished with a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops.
This happy card was created by stamping the sentiment from the Stamping Village Happy Birthday set (available here!) right on a leftover tag, then adding a bow of binding tape and some enamel dots. I colored the hearts with a watercolor pen.
These cards used leftover paper blooms from the kit with a frame on one and the other highlighted with Nuvo drop centers. These cards will work for any event.
This card used another pretty frame and I used a greeting from the Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips Stamp Set Birthday.  These sentiments, along with the dies and the backer dies, are made in advance and stored for quick card making! Taylored Expressions has a few different sets that are cut with the same dies. Love them!!!

Thanks for stopping by for a look at my kit projects. Be well and safe, everyone!

March Scrapshotz Kit - Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Story

Hello! I sincerely hope this finds you all well and busy at home during this time of social distancing. I manage to keep busy in my craft space. Thank goodness for our hobby! Today I am sharing a couple of layouts created with the March Scrapshotz kit - Pinkfresh Studio's "My Favorite Story."

This simple layout has an Emerson quote that I thought was appropriate not only for the photo, but for this uncertain time. I used the new Lawn Fawn Oliver's Stitched ABC's Die Set. (I noticed that at present, this set is out of stock, but I'm sure if you let Sandy know, she can get you one!) I used a Zig marker for the handwriting in the quote.

The photo is nature at her finest and is highlighted with a Studio Katia stencil called Light Ray, using Vicki Boutin Wildflower & Honey Colour Wheel Pigment Ink gold. This metallic ink is solid and awesome, and it's hard to photograph how pretty it is.
I finished it off with a banner from the ephemera pack that I popped up on foam squares. I was planning to write a bit about this crazy time we're living through right now, but decided that I would like to put my thoughts in a note, put it in an envelope and put it behind the layout.
My second layout today used the Creative Scrapbooker challenge sketch for March 2020, shown here.
This color-blocked patterned paper from the My Favorite Story line needed nothing added. I loved this quote and knew that it definitely applied to my granddaughter, so used the beautiful white Thickers included in this months kit to put it on a black cardstock panel. The white printing is done with a Gelly Roll pen.

The blooms were fussy cut from another sheet of the patterned paper, then some were popped up with foam. The flower centers were embellished with drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops - Ebony Black. I love how they give the blooms some added life. I also embellished the page with some of the enamel dot stickers included in the kit.

Thanks for stopping by. Keep yourself and your families safe and well.
