Garden Shoppe! Paige Evans - November Scrapbook Kit! Pt.2

Rosie back with another layout using the fabulous November kit!

I used the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine November sketch to scrapbook these photos from the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in 2021.

The title rose gold Thickers are from my stash and the smaller letters are the kit stickers.

I've also edged the white card stock background with kit washi tape. The floral paper is paper #2 and I've also matted it on black card stock before adhering to the base, the base patterned paper is paper #22.

My favourite thing about this layout is the journaling which I've handwritten and used kit thickers and stickers as words and phrases within the journaling.

After I finished the layout I realized I didn't write any description about the photos themselves.
Easy problem to solve, I wrote the details of the photos on a piece of card stock and then adhered that to the back side of the layout.

I'll be back again with a few more kit projects!

Thanks for stopping by!

November '21 Kit: Discover Pure Happiness

 Hello Friends!

Above is not only the title of my project but what I feel every time I sit down to create with a monthly kit!

Sandy takes all the guessing on what works together out of the equation by doing the work you!

You never have to search for the 'right' colour of cardstock in your stash, Scrap Shotz does that for you.

This patterned paper is printed with the large floral cluster in the bottom left and I didn't want to cover that up so I fussy cut around portions of the image with a craft knife and slid the photos underneath.

I also added foam tape under the fussy cut pieces.

The black splatters are created with the Altenew Jet Black Watercolour Brushmarker from my stash and I've curled up the edges of the fussy cut images.

The title is built by combining a Puffy Thicker and stickers from the kit, the butterfly and tall foliage are from the the Fernwood Icon Ephemera.

Simple Mixed Media

I am playing with some of the Vicki Boutin, Let's Wander collection - this is the line we are featuring in our kits this month and I got a few of the goodies to play with. I love it as much as I knew I would! This collection is so colourful and so busy (in a good way). With this kit, you can get away with keeping things really simple and still creating a layout with lots to look at.

I started this layout with the sunburst rainbow design in the 12x12 paper pad. Inspired by the rainbow look, I took the star 12x12 paper and started fussy cutting. Focusing on the stars that had the same colour tones as the rainbow burst and making sure to cut a few of all the different sizes - I spent a couple of Parks & Recreation episodes sitting on the couch cutting stars. Binge-watching and fussy cutting are like peas and carrots!

From there I laid out the stars on the rainbow burst using tone on tone. Sitting back, I felt like I needed some mixed media -  not too much though there was a lot going on...So I stamped a few stars from the matching stamp & die set with the collection to bring a little pop of black behind the star clusters. Then using my journal and a ruler created a grid pattern sort of like a graph paper design to anchor my photos and then a little bit more up top off the edge.

To finish off my background, I did just a tiny bit of black splatters and then layered it all back on. I used foam adhesive on a few of the stars to give it all some dimension.

I really love how it turned out! The muted colours of this collection and pops of black with the star stamps and grid design giving it just a touch of black - made it fun busy, not too busy!

Just A Little Lovely: September Scrap Shotz Kit

Hi All!

Rosie here and I am super stoked to share some of my projects created with the fantastic September kit. This kit is so awesome and versatile, I created 5 layouts and 6 cards. I had to force myself to stop working with it as I have a number of other projects I needed to complete by yesterday, lol 😊.

First up is this layout based on this Creative Scrapbooker Magazine September sketch:
I fussy cut the flowers from this sheet of paper:
Literally fussy cut the.entire.sheet, my fingers were a little numb by the time I finished😂.

I have layered the fussy cut blooms over some of the gold foiled acetate die cuts and then watercolored some of the white blooms with Nuvo Shimmer Powder.

I then incorporated the phrase stickers into my journaling.

The layout is finished off with a title created with the puffy alphas included in the kit and a tab from the die cut add on.

These patterned papers have a gorgeous water coloured like side and this next paper was perfect for my sunset photo:

I die cut yellow and pink leaves using a Silhouette cut file and my Cameo machine. I then applied Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel over the leaves through the Altenew Feathered Leaves stencil.

I placed the die cuts and embellishments within the same color on the patterned paper.

I used the kit puffy stickers, kit embellishments, paper strips from other projects and die cut add ons to embellish the layout, adhering most with foam tape to add dimension.

Can you tell how much I enjoyed these gold foiled acetate die cuts? They are so easy to work with, I added liquid glue and then rubbed it around with my finger and once it dries you can not see any adhesive at all.

I cut banners out of the patterned papers and inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and a mini ink blending tool. The kit included pink card stock is inked with Distress Oxide Spun Sugar and  Abandoned Coral ink to create a peachy shade and the edges are inked with the black soot distress ink. The background was splattered with Blue Blitz Nuvo Shimmer Powder.

Much more inspiration to come, thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Scrap Shotz Monthly Kit| December

Hello Scrap Shotz Friends!

Happy Holidays to you all, hope you have been having a wonderful holiday season! It has been quite mild for us here in Alberta but we're enjoying it while it lasts!

Rosie back to share another layout using the December Scrap Shotz kit, it's a great value at $35.95 packed full of product! I'll have a video later this week taking a closer look at the kit.

In the meantime, I have created a layout based on this fabulous Creative Scrapbooker Magazine sketch:

We went to Lake Louise on a day trip last January, it was COLD and snowy, this kit was perfect for these photos.

I don't often find myself in the photos so I took the opportunity to use one on this layout. I really like the circular aspect of the sketch and created the circle with a die cut and emphasized it with gold and silver cord. I followed the edge of a pot lid with liquid adhesive and then placed the cord on top of the glue.

I then added punched squares and circles, kit ephemera and punched snowflakes around the layout following the circle die cut and cord. All of these elements are adhered to one of the kit dotted patterned papers. The snowflake centres are embellished with Studio Katia clear drops and kit enamel dots.

Kit ephemera and chipboard also embellish the layout.

The kit alphas comprise the title and I've brushed a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen over the top to add sparkle.

Scrap Shotz October Kit Auburn Lane

Hello!
Rosie here to share with you my October kit projects using the beautiful warm colours of the Pink Paislee Auburn Lane line:

This kit is packed full of product, a great value at $35.95 for a 3 month subscription!

DT member Laura created this fabulous sketch for the team to use this month:

Here is my layout based on the sketch:

I fussy cut the florals from 2 different sheets of patterned paper and the gold foiled vellum, layering along the left side of the layout.
The best thing about a kit is that all the products coordinate well together making it easy to mix patterns when creating the project layers as per the sketch.

The accents are from the kit puffy stickers, stickers, ephemera and Studio Katia floral sequins.

I worked on this next layout at the Scrap Shotz Fall crop and am happy to say I completed everything except the photos and the sequins :):

I have used this design in the past, it is inspired by a Simple Stories layout and is a great way to mix patterned papers without overwhelming the photos.

The pink flower at the top is one of the kit sequins, the rest of the layout is accented with kit stickers and die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, I'm working on a series of thank you cards utilizing this kit I hope to share with you over the next few days.

Scrap Shotz September Kit - Prima Santorini Collection Vacation Layout

Hi again friends! It's Karla back with the fabulous Scrap Shotz September Scrapbook Kit featuring the Prima Santorini collection. I am really loving all the gorgeous papers, ephemera, cards, stickers, flowers and more that are included in this kit, as well as the awesome add-ons available, and it has been perfect for documenting our family's summer vacation in Invermere! Be sure to check the last two posts to see a reveal video HERE and two layouts with a process video HERE. Today, I'm sharing a third layout using this month's sketch by our talented Design Team Member, Laura. Read on to find out how you can enter this month's challenge by creating a layout based on this sketch for a chance to win!!

I started off by using the pretty pink cardstock from the kit as my background layer and then started layering on the gorgeous 12x12 papers from the September Kit. I really love the watercolour look paper with the pretty blue foil on it! Since this was a layout about my girls playing in the waterpark I used the cute girl in her striped bathing suit and hat from the cut apart 12x12 sheet. I followed the sketch adding strips of patterned papers and stickers under my main photo and bathing suit girl card.

This beautiful blue fabric flower is just one of the add-on's available in the shop to coordinate with this month's kit. I love the beads in the center of it - so pretty! I layered on some elements from the Ephemera Diecut package (paper and acetate) and some chipboard stickers, both included in the kit.

On the bottom left corner of my photo I added another cluster of embellishments, including the cute ticket, a flip flop chipboard sticker, that adorable flamingo and a little you & me sticker, all from the kit. The shiny pink flower is another amazing add-on!

Here's a look at this month's sketch. Use it as a starting point to layer your beautiful papers and get another layout in your album ... and get a chance to win a gift card by sharing it with us using #sszchallenge on Instagram or sharing on our Facebook page. Check out the full details HERE. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to head over to the Scrap Shotz Store to get your gorgeous September kit and all the amazing add-ons available!! Have a fabulous weekend friends!
