Sharing More Love From the November Kit

The November kit had me overflowing with creativity. My layout below was inspired by the wood plank background *swoon* I tiled the Project Life cards to create a portion of the background.

The gorgeous chipboard elements flanked a special image that I have held onto for several years! It captured a special moment during an autumn walk with my daughter :-) In addition to the chipboard, I layered the phrase and puffy stickers around the image. I hope this layout is creatively inspiring for you!

With my pattern paper scraps, I quickly made a set of simple cards featuring the ample chipboard pieces. This card was created in under 5 minutes!

The remaining two cards showcased an interesting focal point of layered chipboard pieces.

And my last card ...

Thank you for dropping by - I look forward to seeing what you make with the November kit!

November Kit with Sylvie

Hi there!

I'm up today with two more layouts made with the November Kit.  The Prima Marketing Amber Moon line is just beautiful. It was so easy to work with and I'm so happy with the projects I made.

I made two pages from the same event, but it's not a two page layout.  I chose to use two sketches to that I felt complemented each other.  The first layout was inspired by the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine November sketch.

I stuck to the sketch pretty closely. For the rounded parts shown on the sketch, I chose to stamp a flower cluster using the Peony Cluster and heat embossed it in gold embossing powder.  I coloured the images with watercolours and die cut the shape with the matching die.  The rest of the page was embellished with the chipboard pieces and rhinestones from the kit.

I found that the Thickers from the kit didn't stand out enough from the background page, so, I used a Faber Castell Pitt pen and just coloured it in to darken each letter.  While the ink was still wet, I dabbed it with my finger to make the ink look distressed and I'm really happy with how it turned out. The stickers for the title are from my stash and they are a very old Echo Park alpha.

For my next layout, I used the sketch from Stuck?Sketches that the Design Team used for this kit.

Hope I don't offend anyone with title, but you can read the journaling that explains it. I used a very old alpha stamp from my stash and put it together with the Thickers and the "love" chipboard sticker from the kit to make a big title.

There was a lot to say in my journaling, so I typed it on my computer and printed it onto a transparency. The striped paper was my favourite from the collection and I didn't want to cover any more of it than I had to. The photostrip in the photo clusters was cut with my Silhouette from the Yam cardstock. The page was embellished with more chipboard, leaves, crystals and puffy stickers... all from the kit!

The November kit is full of embellishments. I've done 3 layouts and a card and I still have a bunch left over for future projects. I love that!

Thanks for looking!

November Kit Reveal - 2nd Project

Hello Scrap Shotz fans!

It's Julia here and I am back to reveal my 2nd project using the November kit.

Here is my finished project -

I started with an 8x10 canvas that I painted with dark brown and black paint. My focal point is going on the reverse side of the canvas.
I took some burlap and used hot glue to adhere it to the edge of my frame. I used pieces bigger than what I needed then trimmed it to fit once glued down.
I chose the pieces from the kit that I would use for my focal point. I also used Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder from Emerald Creek. This is my fave ep and yes, it's available from Scrap Shotz!

Thanks for joining my this month for my November Kit project reveals!
Watch for more inspiration to come from Virginia, Sylvie and Katelyn.

Layouts with the Scrap Shotz November Kit

Hello! Winter has arrived in Calgary this week...and I so grateful that I had my winter tires installed. It makes me appreciate the beauty that autumn graces us with.

The November kit features Amber Moon from Prima. It is a stunning kit with heavily weighted papers with beautiful patterns and foil accents. In my layout below, I tried to use as many different pieces from as many pattern papers as I could (truth be told, I could not decide what to choose!). The 5x7 images were accented with the chipboard piece, dyed leaves, puffy stickers and gems. I added some black splatters of paint too!

Close-up images of my accent clusters which I so love to do....can you see the glitter on the leaves? and the light bounces off the gems as each gem is faceted.

The gold foiled accents add so much to my projects....and I just realized that one of the chipboard pieces fell off and is photographed on an angle (sorry!)

This kit is so versatile....here is a layout celebrating my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. The golds, browns and burnt umbra colours enhanced my family photos.  As a backdrop to the photos, I used the Project Life cards.

Here is a close-up of the gold foiling...the sticker sheet had oodles of phrases to accent my layout.

For some texture, I wrapped some gold quilting thread around the chipboard tag and surrounded it with strips of pattern paper and stickers from the sticker sheet.

I hope you found inspiration and I thank you for dropping by the blog!

November Kit with Sylvie

Hi there!

Today, I am sharing two projects made with the beautiful November Kit, which features Amber Moon from Prima Marketing Inc.

I have to say that when I opened the pizza box, I just spread out the pretty papers and embellishments and stared at it all for a while.  It is all so pretty!

The first project is a 12x12 layout.  I started with a piece of kraft cardstock from my stash and smooshed some Distress Oxide in Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade over the right side of the paper and a bit on the lower left edge.  The paper was then trimmed by 1/4 inch on each side and placed on the Java cardstock.

I layered and adhered pieces of patterned paper in various sizes and the edges curled up with my hands. Strips of cardstock were placed on the left edge of the page.  The page was then embellished with leaves, flowers, chipboard, puffy stickers and word stickers. The title is made from a puffy sticker and some old Echo Park alpha stickers from a ScrapShotz kit from 4 years ago! ;)

The finishing touch was to add some rhinestones and crystals also from the kit.

My next project is a quick thank you card.

The card was made from the Candle cardstock from the kit.  The lovely thing about Prima is how you can use the packaging for your projects.  The background paper is from the puffy sticker packaging and trimmed to fit.  The "Herbs" card is a cut away from a patterned paper. The card is then embellished with more Prima leaves and the sentiment is  from the Rubber Shapes sticker and Dymo label maker.  Again, the finishing touch was to add a few rhinestones.

This kit is just lovely and so easy to use. I can't wait to play with it again!

Thanks for looking!
