Fabulous Find: Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue

Have you seen this collection in the store? It's Pink Paislee's Vintage Vogue!

 

 

Well, take a second look because it is uber versatile, consists of many different colours that can be used for many different locations...and all the accessories are so darn cute!

New In The Store - March 20, 2012

Every time I look into the store, I have to overcome my urge to put every.single.item into my cart! LOL Rather than buy all the items, I decided to buy some items and share my favourites with you! :-)

Firstly, the selection of tapes is just too tempting! This is in my cart right now - I am in serious love with the chevron pattern from Queen and Co.

 

These tapes are fabulous for binding mini albums and for use in your Smash books!

Speaking of Smash books, Sandy has the most awesome selection of Smash products. Here are a few that are must haves for me.

   

I am also quite charmed by Pink Paislee's latest collection, Indigo Bleu.

Wowsers! Have you seen the Scrap Shotz store lately? I swear there is something new in there every time I look...I love post-CHA! :-)

I not only use my brads to anchor pattern papers or flower centres but I also treat them as decorative accents. In my layout below, I used them to adhere my layers of twine.

Fabulous Find: Sew Stamper

Have you heard the big big news???? If not, let me tell you! The uber cool feature of the February Scrap Shotz monthly kit is......the Sew Stamper! I know, I know...OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!!

So what does the Sew Stamper look like? Well, it is similar to its cousins, the Sew Easy and the Sew Ribbon.

Fabulous Find: Prima Pebbles

My Fabulous Find is Prima Pebbles. Do you like them? I will admit I wasn't quite sure how initially how I would incorporate them into my projects but now it something I think about all the time! :-)

Here is my layout showcasing a Scrap Shotz monthly kit (of course!) and those yummy Prima Pebbles!

If you look in the top right hand corner, I placed my Prima Pebbles there. When I was constructing the layout, it just "felt empty" there and these were perfect!

Since then I have gone on to make a list of how to use the pebbles more - here are my suggestions, hope you like them!

• Flower centres (of course!) gosh they would be stunning!
• Use them as a hyphen in a title word
• Use them as the dot of a letter or punctuation
• I am contemplating using them as "stepping stones" on a layout ... but I don't want to use them up so fast! LOL
• and lastly, I am excited to use them as jewellery on a pendant - stay tuned for this project - it is in its idea phase now!!!

Fabulous Find: Sizzix Pillow Box

December is here and you know what that means, right? Yup Christmas is just around the corner and it is a time for scrappers to showcase their talents!

Today, I have an adorable pillow box to share. If you are like me, I am always on the hunt for interesting but gorgeous ways to package gifts.

Well look no further - consider this pillow box! It's die is from Sixxiz and cuts like butter! It literally takes minutes to assemble and how you adorn it is completely up to you! On this example, I cut cream Bazzill cardstock, spritzed it with Goosebumps and let it dry. Then I used that luscious glitter cardstock Sandy carries for the cumberbund and added some Sixxiz 3D flowers (also a die). Those snowflakes are diecut from a Cuttlebug die too! All this took me less than 10 minutes!

The possibilities are endless - I made 25 for an advent countdown but it is perfect for jewellery or sweet gifts!

Fabulous Find: Prima Printery Canvas Resist

Gosh, there are so many new scrappy items in the store right now; it was SO hard to choose my Fabulous Find! But I finally decided upon the Prima Printery Canvas Resist! They are absolutely genius, in my opinion.

When you first open the package, you are overcome with adorable and versatile shapes. Then you notice they are a creamy white. And that is the beauty of these delightful accents! Because they are creamy white and made of canvas, a porous and absorbent material, you can colour them to any colour you desire. You can use the full Tattered Angels line or Clearsnap mists or any type of inks (alcohol or dye) or even gesso and paint…as you can see the options are endless! The drying time depends on the medium you used to colour the accent.

Here is how I used the Prima Printery Canvas Resist accents...

Supplies:  Bazzill (cardstock); Authentique (pattern papers, brads); EK Success border punch; Heidi Swapp (black gem oval); Tattered Angels glimmer mist; Clearsnap Smooch Spritz; Goosebumps; American Crafts (alphas); stitching

To blend the canvas accent with the Authentique papers (September Scrap Shotz kit), I used Tattered Angels (denim, Irridescent gold, sand) and the Clear Snap Smooch (Navy Twinkle) Spritz to initially colour the floral bouquet. After it dried, I liberally sprayed it with Tattered Angels pearl mist and a touch of Goosebumps. Then I added some Kaiser pearls for dimension.

If you are looking for a unique customizable accent, give these canvas resist accents a try!

Fabulous Find: Kaisercraft Frame

Christmas is coming and this is prime gift making season! May I recommend the Kaisercraft picture frame?? Look at Rosie's gorgeous frame - it is perfect for the person that has everything! (I know I'll be whipping up another...or two...)

Fabulous Find: Imaginsce Petal Pusher

Hello! We're back from the Canadian Scrapbooker's Carnival at the University of Calgary; what a fantastic time! And a big thank you to everyone that came by our booth - it is SO nice to meet "online" faces as well as new faces:-) I hope to see you all at the October 15 crop too!

Today I have a wonderful Fabulous Find. To be entirely truthful, this product surprised me with how amazing it was. At first glance, I thought..."Really? What is so special about this pink thing???"

I mean, look at it, I mean really look at it. It's a pink stick with a ball on one end a blunt needle on another. Well, let me just declare now that I was dead wrong; this tool is a girl's dream!!! Let me show why!

I have long admired those 3D flowers that are all the rage now. And I have tried numerous times to easily construct one to adorn my projects...unsuccessfully mind you. Well, no more!

With the Spellbinders die or the Sizzix die, I easily make flowers as shown below in SECONDS! Yes, I just said SECONDS, not minutes or hours.

Want to know how? Start with a die cut similar to that from the Spellbinders and Sizzix dies linked above. Insert the outer end of the die cut into the notch of the Petal Roller. Then begin rolling towards the INSIDE of the die cut.

Don't worry about it being perfectly wound layers - just follow the curve of the die cut until you reach the middle. Give your rolled paper a "finger hug" and remove it from the Petal Roller. Place it on the table and let it "unwind" slightly. Place adhesive on the middle where the petal is slightly larger. The adhesive will gently hold all the flower layers together.

If you want to loosen the layers, you the ball end of the Petal Roller for some slight adjustments.

Now enjoy your beautiful flower! At this point, you can spray with some glimmer mist or glimmer glam or even better some Goosebumps (I'll be blogging about this later this week!) Once you mist the flower, you can "shape" your flower petals too!

Other options that I have tried include dipping your flower in glimmer glam which coats and stiffens the flower; so perfect for headbands! As well, I have cut flower dies from thin material that I have starched and stiffened, for example, blue jean fabric, light weight suede and even organza or tulle ribbons! The possibilities are endless!

Fabulous Find - Echo Park

Are you like me??? Smitten with Echo Park??? I have literally bought every single line that they have released and loved every morsel of it! Scrap Shotz is also a retailer for Echo Park - yippee yahoo!!!!! AND Scrap Shotz also had an Echo Park kit - that is how much we love love love all things Echo Park!!!

Here are some of my projects with Echo Park. 99% of the items on my layouts below are Echo Park products - I love love love purchasing their kits and having everything a girl could want to create layouts on different subjects and moods; don't you?

Fabulous Find - BoBunny Petal Pushers

BoBunny is a company that I am smitten with! Their lines over the past 18 months has me wanting more, more and oh so much more! LOL One of my most recent favorite lines is Petal Pushers (...and I also have some Gabrielle waiting for some love!)

Fabulous Find - Canadian Scrapbooker Spring 2011

Don't you love holding a magazine in your hands, especially a scrapbook magazine? Yeah, I thought so! Me too! Nothing is more enjoyable than soaking in the tub surrounded by yummy candles, slowly reading a scrappy magazine.

One of the magazines I love is Canadian Scrapbooker. I love that it features a lot of Canadian talent, that it is created right here in Alberta, that the people behind the magazine are AWESOME and that there are A LOT of Scrap Shotz girls in each issue!!!! I love it, love it, love it!!!

Fabulous Friday - Chromotherapy Challenge

On this Fabulous Friday, we have an awesome Chromotherapy Challenge from Laura.

When I think of winter I think of the bright blue skies and white snow so for this month I am going to make it easy (I know everyone is super busy this time of year) I want to see you use these two colors (and variations of) in your project! have fun ladies!

Fabulous Find - Scor-Buddy

It's the Scor-Buddy!!! The Scor-Buddy is the little sister of the Scor-Pal.

Yes, this little gem of a tool is absolutely amazing! You are probably wondering what a Self-confessed Scrapper and Angst-Filled-Cardmaker would be doing with a Scor-Pal and truthfully, I wondered myself. LOL This tool is fantastic for scrappers. You know the adorable rosettes, flowers and paper envelopes that are all the rage - well you too can make them in minutes with the Scor-Pal.

I especially like that it comes in a convenient size that works for me. If I need to score a 12x12 piece of paper, I just flip the paper over and score the other side. The score lines are clear, precise and accurate. The measurements on the ruler are easy to decipher and the sweet handy clip prevents me from losing the scoring tool.

Look at the cute box I made below with the dividers. Without the Scor-Pal, this would not be a project that I would be jumping to try! With the Scor-Pal, I attacked the project and finished in under 30 minutes.

It's a Fabulous Friday Find!

Yes today is a glorious Friday and it is also Fabulous! We are changing things a bit this Friday due some technical difficulties! It's hard to believe how much we rely on technology but we do, I DO! So in lieu of our Fabulous Friday post, we have my Fabulous Find!

My Fabulous Find is the Becky Fleck PageMaps 2 book. Oh oh oh oh my goodness! I absolutely adore this sketch book. It is one of a kind. It has 12x12 sketches for single and double pages, 8.5 x 11 sketches for single and double pages.....and...it has sketches for cards and digi/hybrid scrapping! This book is a Must-Have for every scrapper and cardie! I know I'll picking up an extra book for that special crafter in my life for Christmas!
