Make Those Sequins Shake

This month's Scrapbook Kit features the Cocoa Vanilla, Daydream collection, including the Sequins and Flowers set! As soon as I saw those sequins, I knew a shaker was in their future as a major design feature of one of my layouts. Here is that layout:

In the die-cut pack with the Kit there were two frames included, the wood grain polaroid shape there in the background and the striped pink/white in the front. To create the shaker:

  1. Flip the frame so the pretty side is down
  2. Add adhesive tape (I use Sookwang) to all the way around the opening
  3. Use some packaging from thickers or papers or your Kit items to cover the frame
  4. Add some skinny foam tape all the way around the opening, on top of the packaging
  5. Pour in some of those pretty sequins in the open space
  6. Add another layer of packaging to secure those pretties in there
  7. Trim off the excess plastic packaging that shows outside the frame
  8. Flip it over, give it a shake and smile!
Here are a few close-ups of the shaker pocket frames, and how I embellished around the photo with some die-cuts and few stickers and then topped it all off with some fussy cut butterflies from the vellum speciality paper by Vicki Boutin.

For the title, I tucked it there on the left and used the stripes of the Cocoa Vanilla pattern paper to make it straight - love when the paper helps you out, I struggle with making things straight! I embraced all the colours of the PinkFresh Studio alphas in the Kit - they all match so well!

If you try a shaker pocket or make a page with your September Kit, we would love to see! Give us a tag on Instagram or join us over on Facebook in the Scrap Shotz Paper Crafting Group

Happy crafting!
