The December Scrap Shotz Monthly Kit titled Chilly Willy is chockful of delicious items.

This kit features the entire Echo Park Wintertime Collection, plus doubles of their distressed solids ( 15 sheets total, plus the alpha and element sticker).  Then we added 8 sheets of Bazzill Cardstock ( white, pinecone, starmist and marachino), the sticker sheet from Fancy Pants " hot chocolate" and the rhinestones, brads and dimensional stickers from Bo Bunny Midnight Frost.  To top it off you'll get 3 yards of deluxe May Arts Ribbon, a white brillliance ink, a Technique Tuesday snowflake stamp and a package of Melissa Frances chipboard snowflakes.  Enjoy! This is available as a 6 month subscription only, at this time.

Now let me show what the Design Team created with this kit - the projects are truly breathtaking!

Stephanie created this stunning snowflake card. Love the shimmery flower on the front.

Laura created a gorgeous layout of Christmas morning. The shimmery ribbon is gorgeous on the layout with the brads.

Look at the fabulous layout Jennifer created of her Christmas photo shoot. The red Santa hat is so striking against the beautiful Echo Park papers.

Laurel created this jaw dropping Thank You card - you can never have enough Thank You cards during the holiday season.

Look at this sweet wintery layout by Carolyn. I love how the snowy background of the photos blend seamlessly with the pattern paper.

And Jamie's fantastic layout celebrating a winter past time, skating, is a perfectly accented with the snowflakes and figure skates!

I think you'll agree with me...it's a fantastic reveal!

Fabulous Friday - Anything But Challenge

Today we have a wonderful Fabulous Friday Anything But challenge from Carolyn. I know I'll be making several of these! Here is Carolyn...

With Christmas fast approaching now seems a good time to get a start on those gifts. Here is a little gift card holder that comes to you in the shape of an ornament. I made mine from the beautiful Midnight Frost line by Bo Bunny.

Step 1

Cut 2 circles from cardstock or pattern paper the size you want your gift card holder to be. Mine are 4.5 in so they will fit in a square envelope.

Step 2

Cut one more circle of the pattern paper and cut in half as this will form the pocket to hold the gift card.

Step 3

Cut a rectangle from cardstock or pattern paper. This will form the topper on your ornament. You can size it as desired. I cut mine 1.75in x 2.5in. Score the rectangle in the middle to fold over the circles. Trim the ends with a border punch or pattern scissors as desired.

Step 4

Attach the ornament topper (rectangle) to the top of both circles as shown. Punch a hole in the top of the topper for a hanging ribbon.

Step 5

Adhere your half circle to the inside back circle to form a pocket. Embellish as desired.

Step 6

Embellish the front of your gift card holder as desired. Thread a length of ribbon through the hole you punched in the topper leaving a loop. Voila! A cute little gift card holder you can hang on your Christmas tree.

Thank you Carolyn for this awesome tutorial!

Fabulous Fundamental - Distressing Part 1

There are so many wonderful techniques in scrapbooking and cardmaking. One of the techniques that I wish I could successfully master is Distressing! Fortunately, Design Team member Laura Gilhuly is an expert at it and has graciously prepared a 3-part series to share her secrets! Thank you Laura!

I love to distress my projects.....things never seem done to me until I have inked them....so I thought that would be were I would start....INKING!

Grab a piece of paper, your favorite ink pad and a make up sponge or ink applicator.

There are different ways to ink...you can use the ink pad.

And your edge will look like this

If you would like to accent your edges, run your ink pad at a 90 degree angle to darken all the edges.

My favourite way is to use a make up sponge...

Press your sponge onto your ink pad and get it quite inky (is that a word? lol)
Apply the sponge directly onto the paper pulling away

It will look like this...

For a darker and more dramatic look, lay your paper on a hard surface with a scrap paper showing over the edge. saturate your make up sponge and while pressing down pull back on the sponge.

You can control your width of distressing....

in the end your inking could look like this

Thank you Laura! Absolutely stunning!  I am going to give this a whirl!

Fabulous Friday - Inspired By Challenge

We are in for an *inspirational* treat from Laura's Inspired By Fabulous Friday Challenge.

I am not a big pop music fan but I love the lyrics to the song 'Man in the Mirror' by Michael Jackson. I want you to use these lyrics for inspiration for a project...you do not have to use the lyrics just be inspired by them.

"Man In The Mirror"

I'm Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right . . .
As I, Turn Up The Collar On My
Favourite Winter Coat
This Wind Is Blowin' My Mind
I See The Kids In The Street,
With Not Enough To Eat
Who Am I, To Be Blind?
Pretending Not To See
Their Needs
A Summer's Disregard,
A Broken Bottle Top
And A One Man's Soul
They Follow Each Other On
The Wind Ya' Know
'Cause They Got Nowhere
To Go
That's Why I Want You To
Know

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change)
(Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah)

I've Been A Victim Of A Selfish
Kind Of Love
It's Time That I Realize
That There Are Some With No
Home, Not A Nickel To Loan
Could It Be Really Me,
Pretending That They're Not
Alone?

A Willow Deeply Scarred,
Somebody's Broken Heart
And A Washed-Out Dream
(Washed-Out Dream)
They Follow The Pattern Of
The Wind, Ya' See
Cause They Got No Place
To Be
That's Why I'm Starting With
Me
(Starting With Me!)

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Ooh!)
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change)

I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm Asking Him To Change His
Ways
(Change His Ways-Ooh!)
And No Message Could've
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make That . . .
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make That . . .)
Change!
I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror,
(Man In The Mirror-Oh
Yeah!)
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Better Change!)
No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make The Change)
(You Gotta Get It Right, While
You Got The Time)
('Cause When You Close Your
Heart)
You Can't Close Your . . .Your
Mind!
(Then You Close Your . . .
Mind!)
That Man, That Man, That
Man, That Man
With That Man In The Mirror
(Man In The Mirror, Oh Yeah!)
That Man, That Man, That Man
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Better Change!)
You Know . . .That Man
No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah
(Oh Yeah!)
Gonna Feel Real Good Now!
Yeah Yeah! Yeah Yeah!
Yeah Yeah!
Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah
(Ooooh . . .)
Oh No, No No . . .
I'm Gonna Make A Change
It's Gonna Feel Real Good!
Come On!
(Change . . .)
Just Lift Yourself
You Know
You've Got To Stop It.
Yourself!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!)
I've Got To Make That Change,
Today!
Hoo!
(Man In The Mirror)
You Got To
You Got To Not Let Yourself . . .
Brother . . .
Hoo!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!)
You Know-I've Got To Get
That Man, That Man . . .
(Man In The Mirror)
You've Got To
You've Got To Move! Come
On! Come On!
You Got To . . .
Stand Up! Stand Up!
Stand Up!
(Yeah-Make That Change)
Stand Up And Lift
Yourself, Now!
(Man In The Mirror)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Aaow!
(Yeah-Make That Change)
Gonna Make That Change . . .
Come On!
(Man In The Mirror)
You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know . . .
(Change . . .)
Make That Change.

Fabulous Find - Scor-Buddy

Want to see my Fabulous Find this week? :-)

It's the Scor-Buddy!!! The Scor-Buddy is the little sister of the Scor-Pal.

Yes, this little gem of a tool is absolutely amazing! You are probably wondering what a Self-confessed Scrapper and Angst-Filled-Cardmaker would be doing with a Scor-Pal and truthfully, I wondered myself. LOL This tool is fantastic for scrappers. You know the adorable rosettes, flowers and paper envelopes that are all the rage - well you too can make them in minutes with the Scor-Pal.

I especially like that it comes in a convenient size that works for me. If I need to score a 12x12 piece of paper, I just flip the paper over and score the other side. The score lines are clear, precise and accurate. The measurements on the ruler are easy to decipher and the sweet handy clip prevents me from losing the scoring tool.

Look at the cute box I made below with the dividers. Without the Scor-Pal, this would not be a project that I would be jumping to try! With the Scor-Pal, I attacked the project and finished in under 30 minutes.

Supplies:  Making Memories (pattern paper, ribbon, flowers) These supplies are from a Scrap Shotz Kit Take 2.

I can see many more of these boxes in my future...especially with the holiday season fast approaching!

What do you think of the Scor-Buddy?
