Meet the New Scrap Shotz Designers

Hello and Happy January!

We recently held a call for Canadian designers to join the Scrap Shotz team for the latest design term.

It was wonderful to see so many talented Canadian paper crafters, it was a tough decision!

Let's meet the newest members of the Scrap Shotz team:

Brande Davision

Hello, Hello! Name is Brande Davison. I live in beautiful (albeit largely rainy) Vancouver, BC with my hubby and our wee Jack Russell named Bella Bean Pup Pup. I started scrapbooking when I was 19 at a Creative Memories party my amazing step-mom hosted and I haven’t looked back. Fast forward 20 years and I feel like I finally found ‘my style’ (loads of journalling, lots of layers, and a touch of creative mess). I am so blessed to have a life that allows me to scrapbook, even a little, every day. Find me on Instagram @brandedavison or @scrapstorian (a scrapbook blog I host with my sister Shar and our scrapbooking bestie Cheryl). I cannot wait to start creating with Scrap Shotz and getting to know you all!

Carolyn Johnson

Hello! My name is Carolyn Johnson and I live in Winnipeg, Canada. I am very excited to design for a Canadian scrapbooking store! I'm a teacher by day and a scrap-a-holic by night. I have an 8-year-old daughter named Cosette who is the focus of my scrapbook but occasionally my husband and I make an appearance. I began scrapbooking in 2011 as a way to give myself a break during a very stressful year. I quickly became hooked and now I make layouts any chance I can get. I love making cute, funny and pretty pages and experimenting with a variety of styles and products. Thank-you Scrap Shotz for this opportunity!

Lorraine Melin

Lorraine Melin is a scrapbooker and card maker living in rural Alberta with her husband, Art. She started scrapbooking in 2002 as a creative way to display and preserve the many photos she took of her 2 children, Beau and Sarah. A couple of classes at a local scrapbook store and she found her passion in all aspects of papercrafting. Her work has been published a few times in Creative Scrapbooker magazine, with her first layout in the Spring 2008 issue. There were some whoop-whoops that day!
Working full time as a bookkeeper for an insurance agency, she finds time between her grandchildren’s sporting events (hockey and baseball, mostly) to scrapbook and make cards. Her other interests include travel, fishing, leisure time at the cabin and watching Blue Jays baseball.

Welcome to the team designers, we are looking forward to your projects!

They will be sharing their talents with us all starting this February.

Sledding!

Good morning!
I love theses photos - I was so happy to have caught these progressive photos of Tyler hitting the jump on one of our sledding adventures!

I started by trimming, distressing and layering the wonderful Carta Bella 'Let It Snow' papers

He got a lot of air on that jump!

I added a little twine and some chipboard shapes

Snow Fun

Good morning!
Due to some family things I was unable to even look at let alone work with the last two kits!  But when I did open them man was I excited! A couple times a winter my family goes sledding at our local damn with friends - I have so many photos to scrap and seeing the Carta Bella papers and embellishments!

It is not very often I create double page layouts.....but I had so many photos from this sledding day that I decided to make a two page!

I used the kraft coloured cardstock as a base for the otehr wonderful colours to bounce off from

I created lots of layers using the cardstock, papers and stickers.  To add dimension I used foam dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back to show a another layout is a few days!

Scrap Shotz Monthly Kit| December

Hello Scrap Shotz Friends!

Happy Holidays to you all, hope you have been having a wonderful holiday season! It has been quite mild for us here in Alberta but we're enjoying it while it lasts!

Rosie back to share another layout using the December Scrap Shotz kit, it's a great value at $35.95 packed full of product! I'll have a video later this week taking a closer look at the kit.

In the meantime, I have created a layout based on this fabulous Creative Scrapbooker Magazine sketch:

We went to Lake Louise on a day trip last January, it was COLD and snowy, this kit was perfect for these photos.

I don't often find myself in the photos so I took the opportunity to use one on this layout. I really like the circular aspect of the sketch and created the circle with a die cut and emphasized it with gold and silver cord. I followed the edge of a pot lid with liquid adhesive and then placed the cord on top of the glue.

I then added punched squares and circles, kit ephemera and punched snowflakes around the layout following the circle die cut and cord. All of these elements are adhered to one of the kit dotted patterned papers. The snowflake centres are embellished with Studio Katia clear drops and kit enamel dots.

Kit ephemera and chipboard also embellish the layout.

The kit alphas comprise the title and I've brushed a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen over the top to add sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
