Why: With the Calgary Carnival Events moving to the spring, there was a gap in our fall schedule.  So we have taken the plunge, and are organizing a smaller, scaled down crop and shopping event, and we hope you will join us! 

When: Friday September 23 from 9 am to 9 pm and continuing Saturday September 24 from 9 am to 6 pm. 

Where: Thorncliffe Community Centre, 5600 Centre St N Calgary

Host Hotel:  The Clique Hotel Airport $109 plus taxes for 2 queen beds, will be available until September 8th. Call 403 460 9588 and book under the name Scrap Shotz.

What: We are loosely basing the format on previous Carnival events (our event is completely independent of the Carnival event, however Katharina has been very gracious in lending support!)  We are aiming for an event that fits somewhere between the large Carnival event we know and love, and the regular local crop. 

So the Scrapaganza will be a 2 day crop, hours as above, with a marketplace open to the public at the same hours.  We will have multiple vendors on site for the entire show.  The restaurant/ lounge will be open and hopefully the coffee shop, and we will have a group rate at the Clique Hotel.

There will be draw prizes (for croppers) and a Toonie bar for Make 'n Takes (open to all), similar to past events.

How: Registration: Starts at 9 am MST on July 27 and will go through the Scrap Shotz Store.  At 9 am please check links to purchase the crop spot from our Home Page as well as our Facebook Page and our Private Scrapaganza Facebook Group. Although I will be standing by my phone (403*870*8576) and you are welcome to try to call to register, I have only 1 line so we really prefer online registration. No registration before 9 am on this date.

Crop cost is $75, plus GST, and is NON REFUNDABLE.  If you find yourself unable to make it to the event, you may find your own replacement, check to see if we have a waiting list, or ask us to put aside your small table gift for pick up later.  There will also be a limited number of “double your crop space ", for those who wish to pay extra for the full 6 foot table. You will purchase the crop spot, along with the optional extra space, just like you would any item from our store.  You can also purchase multiple spots for friends ( in fact this makes our job easier!); please put their names in the comment section of your order, or email me once you know.   Payment types will be e-transfer, Visa, Mastercard, or PayPal. (if you are paying by PayPal or e-transfer, please wait for an invoice. Your spots are still confirmed, but just keep your eyes open for the invoice/request for payment for these two methods). We have space for approximately 120 croppers, with approximately 20 extended spaces at a cost of $40.

Your crop registration includes your 2 day crop at a 6 foot table shared by two people, the opportunity to win door prizes and a small table gift. We are also cooking up some fun for the Friday night! If you need extra lighting, or other access to power, please bring your own extension cord and gaffer tape (the venue prohibits duct tape).


As this is our first crack at this event, we thank you in advance for your patience.  We all work full time or part time outside of Scrap Shotz, and our goal is to make this a fun, low key event and we will deal with challenges and questions as they arise. Once our initial registration is done, we will create a participant data base, and send out emails to keep you updated on the event.  If you are registering for other people, please forward to your group.


Vendors: We have the following hard commitments, but are waiting to hear back on several more and will update as we find out, but for now we have : Scrap Shotz, Scrap Addicts, The Paper and Ink Boutique, Emerald Creek Crafts, 31 bags, Chalk Couture and Creative Memories. I expect more to be added to that list in the upcoming few weeks (summer vacation gets in the way!)

Classes: We are working with vendors to see who may want to teach a class – classes will be run 100% through each vendor; more information will be posted on that as it becomes available.

Open shopping: Will be available to the general public for a small paid admission, and we will update on the logistics of that later
